Ashanti was attacked by White Supremacists on January 5th. She defended herself & once again the @DCPoliceDept arrested a Black woman after her life was threaten on #BlackLivesMatterPlaza . She is suspended from work pending investigation. Please support! https://t.co/YDQ77ejWbC
The quickest and most effective way—it can be done today—to remove this president from office would be for the Vice President to immediately invoke the 25th amendment.
If the Vice President and the Cabinet refuse to stand up, Congress must reconvene to impeach President Trump.
I think we should be VERY clear that yesterday's events may not represent the worst of this transition. This president still has power including the nuclear codes. I am not a bandwagon-jumper...I strongly support the immediate invocation of the 25th Amendment.
President Trump’s instigation of yesterday's insurrection demonstrated that whether unfit or unwell, he lacks the capacity to execute the duties of his office. If he will not step down, he must be removed from office by the Vice President and Cabinet through the 25th Amendment.
Trump’s incitement to violence & mob action yesterday is indisputable. New York Times' headline says it all: "Trump Incites Mob"
The VP should immediately invoke the 25th Amendment. If the VP & Cabinet refuse to do their duty, Congress should reconvene to impeach the President.
We have known for a long time that Donald Trump is violent and unstable. After what happened yesterday, 13 days is too long.
He needs to be removed from office -- whether it be invoking the 25th Amendment or impeachment. We must protect our democracy.
A number of Administration officials are resigning in protest to Trump’s horrific acts of sedition yesterday. Not good enough! The Vice President and cabinet members must invoke the 25th amendment NOW and remove Trump from office before he incites more violence and chaos.
I believe the Republican members of Congress who have incited this domestic terror attack through their attempts to overturn the election must face consequences. They have broken their sacred Oath of Office.
I will be introducing a resolution calling for their expulsion.
Let me be very clear: if all we do is accept the certified Electoral College results and go home, we would have failed our country. We must impeach Trump, or have the 25th Amendment execute, or have @realDonaldTrump resign. Congress cannot just go home like nothing happened.
Apparently, Republicans only want “law and order” after cops shoot black people in the face but not when someone is trying to count black people’s votes
Only three things happened tonight:
1. #DonaldTrump refused to condemn white supremacy.
2. The #POTUS refused to condemn white supremacy.
3. The #CommanderInChief REFUSED to condemn white supremacy on the GLOBAL STAGE.
NOW LOOK AT WHAT IS HAPPENING ONLINE.
THIS IS NOT OKAY.
