The real story shouldn't be Starmer it’s this. Ben Habib casually dropping an allegation that Nigel Farage and Boris Johnson were each handed £1m by Christopher Harborne to fix an election. Truly astonishing claims but sure, let’s all pretend the headline issue is Starmer. The £5m bung is the tip of the iceberg, our press should be camped outside Farage's girlfriends house not 10 Downing Street waiting for the police to arrive #ReformUK #Farage
Piers Morgan, "If we discovered last week that Keir Starmer has taken £5,000,000 without declaring it from a crypto billionaire in Thailand, Reform UK would have gone absolutely berserk" @piersmorgan 👏
Robert Jenrick, "We're talking about a gift even before Nigel Farage was a member of parliament"
Fiona Bruce, "But you know you have to declare it in the 12 months before you become an MP"
So, farewell then, Reform UK’s little @joseph_boam, sacked as Deputy Leader of Leicestershire County Council.
Couldn’t do the job, didn’t do the job, never had the skills to do the job, never put in the effort.
The very epitome of yet another Reform failure.
Big day ahead as we present the English Devolution White Paper to Parliament this afternoon.
Our shared ambition with councils and mayors to drive growth felt in every community, and reform local public services as we repair the foundations are critical to delivering the plan for change.

A Tribute to John Smith
It is with genuine sadness to learn the news of the passing of John Smith earlier today. John was a friend, my election agent and an unwavering pillar of our community here in Bury.
John was a man of deep commitment to public service, steadfast in his belief that politics has the power to transform lives for the better.
John’s legacy is found in all the stories of others stepping forward to get involved. He was a man of keen wit, of smart political insight and determination.
Our belief in politics came with disagreements of course. They came as standard with John, as they do with me. But he was always ready to enjoy a glass of good Red together, as quickly as I am. Our last wine together very recently at your home, will forever be fondly remembered.
John’s heart was rooted in his Catholic faith as well as truly progressive ideas. He was open minded and proudly so.
As my election agent in 2015 and 2017, we shared the highs and lows of political life—learning together what it meant to lose and to win. John would often see beyond the moment or immediate result and focus on the next challenge we’d face.
John’s love of Newcastle United was as strong as his commitment to Labour values, and his faith provided him with a quiet strength that was evident in everything he did. He was not only a dedicated public servant but also a devoted husband to Stella, with whom he shared a remarkable partnership, and a loving father to their four children. I send my deepest and heartfelt sympathies from me and my family.
The flag on the town hall at half-mast today is a mark of respect for a life well-lived and a legacy that will endure.
Rest in peace, John. You will be deeply missed, but your memory as a giant with shoulders on which we all still stand is real. And inspires us the more. XX 🌹 🌹

@robertlargan This house in the tiny village of Chinley belongs to your constituents. It would be very easy to locate. Did you ask their permission before posting this on X? Is publicly insulting your constituents a new electoral tactic?
