@theWokeholics@BernieSanders I guess it’s not surprising that Bernie - who began his career as a Soviet stooge - would eventually wind up as a Nazi-promoter
@feelsdesperate It’s true. Leftist cosplay in the guise of art is neither activism nor art, and so many areas of financially successful cultural production have become painfully conformist.
@pensandpoison These views find fertile soil in American culture, because even many educated Americans are aesthetically illiterate and can’t differentiate between art and propaganda
@SpencerKlavan I genuinely believed that Trump would herald the end of the Republican Party; I'm as surprised as anyone to see the widespread self-immolation happening on the American Left (aided and abetted by the @nytimes)
Stealing from Louvre (or any public museum) is ok is a crazy take because
1) it's a public good built to democratize ownership of cultural icons
2) It was directly formed as such, having appropriated art from elites for national ownership
3) It is as such, the antithesis of socialism. It is removing art from the public to the private
4) it might be the singular most socially destructive symbolic act you can do
@JMan1228@JustineBateman Indeed! Just based on the preview alone, it looks so much cheaper than the original...like trying to remake "Lawrence of Arabia" with a bunch of old iPhones!
@g_mantua @JustineBateman Short answer: yes.
I'm hoping this same film studio will remake the entire filmography of #StanleyKubrick - clearly they have a great deal of confidence in their filmmaking skills!
@JustineBateman Hope they'll follow this up with remakes of Citizen Kane, Vertigo, and Mulholland Drive. It's about time someone got these films right!
@CAgovernor You clearly want to be president very badly; for this reason you should probably never be president.
Between Trump and Obama, I'd say we've had too many narcissists in the position already!
@TribeLawrence@Scott_Wiener Living in an echo chamber has not improved Scott's ability to understand - let alone communicate with - Americans outside of his narrow milieu.
@TribeLawrence@ChrisMurphyCT Lots of (dumb) people use "authoritarianism," "fascism," and "totalitarianism" interchangeably. It's hard to tell when such statements are the result of bad-faith exaggeration or just plain ignorance
@EliseStefanik@KathyHochul She has to go. Unless the @DNC has the guts to get her to step aside, methinks New York is going to have a Republican governor in the near future...
@BreitbartNews As we learned from his exchange with @lawler4ny, Hakeem is not so good on his feet. How can a person who is that bad at debating reach such a high position? His ineptitude at forming an argument is genuinely astonishing.
