I just found out that a close family friend, Abdullatif Ali, was massacred in his home in Jableh along with members of his family. Gunmen entered his house, then proceeded to kill him, his daughter, and her two children. Abdullatif was a longtime Alawite dissident known locally for his sharp rebukes of the former regime.
