@Not_the_Bee "Start slow and get it right before scaling up" is the correct position. There is a right way and many wrong ways to build large data centers.
@Not_the_Bee It's a brilliant way to get the rest of the world to step up and participate in patrolling the straight - they will demand the right to control it rather than pay fees
@BasedMikeLee You need a recess to rework the Save Act. Sit down with a few democrats, and write a bipartisan version. That's the trick to getting legislation passed, for 250 years.
@SenRickScott Hogwash. Nothing gets accomplished during session except grandstanding for the cameras. All the real work is done out of session- researching, writing bills, and negotiating deals. You should meet 2 hrs a week to vote, then go off to do the real work.
@TrumpDailyPosts Would you rather have the Senate consider:
A) the GOP version of the Save Act, which gets zero Democrat votes
B) a bipartisan version of the Save Act, which both parties find acceptable?
@TrumpDailyPosts Well, they are against one specific GOP bill. Get a couple moderate Dems to sit with Mike Lee, and write a bipartisan Save Act ...that would get 80% of the Senate.
@ScottPresler The question isn't "Why hasn't the Senate passed the GOP Save Act?" The question is "Why hasn't the GOP sat down with a few Dems to write a bipartisan version that can pass?"
@ScottPresler A GOP-only bill that gets zero Dem votes isn't going to pass. When will we sit down with a few moderate Dems and write a bipartisan version that will pass? What are we waiting for?
The Senate filibuster was intended to ensure adequate debate before a vote. But the way the rules stand today, we get neither debate nor a vote. Change the rules such that the vote is held no later than, say, 1 month after bill introduction, to ensure both debate time & a vote.
