@wil_da_beast630 I was in my 20s chatting with a friend from college and his wife when he explained that perfectly 'normal' men, including himself would 'check me out' in class. Until then, I thought only cat calling jerks did that.
@Gun10J@TheRealCamelio@Cowboylogic@datingbyblaine Correct. My son is just over 6' tall. He's about 126 lbs. He wears a large top because of the length of his torso and arms. Pants, he wears a 28x32. What he needs is a 26x34 but that's impossible to find off the rack.
@sabrdance@B_Barbarian@kitten_beloved That's extremely interesting. The only way I think that would work is if Martha Jefferson either had a good relationship with Sally or the moral rectitude to obey the dictates of the will despite her personal feelings. They were practically the same age. ๐ฌ
@MostlyMonkey Same 27/30 but I got the age penalty.
People accusing others of cheating 1) don't read old books and 2) don't have specialized vocabulary.
@IonaItalia The reverse is worse. Guy in college liked me but I was on the fence (good call!). This girl purposely befriended me as a way to get close to him and 'neutralize' me as a threat. I saw her do this with every woman he found attractive. ๐
@mr_sanford_lyl@InlandCaGuy@constans Oh, I absolutely have a lazy smart kid. (Thankfully the others are less lazy!) He self educates and learns because smart kids are also curious. But he's lazy/unmotivated so his grades are shit because he refuses to do any work. Think 4 or 5 on AP exam while failing the class. โน๏ธ
@mr_sanford_lyl@InlandCaGuy@constans An 1 s.d. right of the curve smart kid which is what I suspect of NHJ's daughter will absolutely fail to learn as she did until her mother stepped in with $$$$ and resources. A 2 or 3+ s.d. smart kid will self educate and be OK unless severely bullied.
@gabissima@Peter1987Fallow@tracewoodgrains NHJ's got into her top choice (non-SHSAT competitive) high school and had caught up and was doing fine there by the end of her first year. I don't expect college to be more challenging for her than others of her similar ability. Bad schools can wreck kids. But she seems stable.
@AlexGodofsky@andreamatranga MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) testing occurs 3 times a year. This means I can be a deadbeat parent because I can see my children consistently score in the 96 - 99th percentile nationally in math, Eng. & science. But this only works if you believe in standardized testing. ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ
@PanielloPaolo@tracewoodgrains Of course it's a luxury belief as evidence by the ease in which she can hire private tutoring for her daughter and whatever else it took for her daughter to get into her top choice (no test) high school.
@christurner22 @C_Reilly5 I flew often with my children when they were infants. Try to reduce their ear pressure on take off and landing. 1) give them something to suck on or drink & 2) press against their ears to form a seal and then release to create negative pressure. Had flights with zero crying.
