@kazutoki Every Ace Combat game since 04 has been a treasured memory of my life. You and the team who built them are owed a debt we cannot properly express.
Someone who works on The Bear put a little Crimson Tide reference hidden in plain sight in the first episode of the new season and I felt like they did it just for me.
Anyway, just another example of how Assassin's Creed used to attempt to blend science fiction with real history and they just don't care anymore. Someone in a suit said "Put the tiktok song in the game, because tiktok" And it kills me.
Irritated Historian Sunday: I was all hyped to listen to the Assassin's Creed Black Flag Remake shanty collection, because to my delight Ubisoft brought back Sean Dagher and the rest of the crew from the 2013 game to record new songs. And then I see it:
The Wellerman.
This song was famously EXCLUDED from the original game in 2013 because it's wildly anachronistic, it's older than the events of the game by a full 150+ years. It's equivalent to putting a Kendrick Lamar song in a game about the Franco-Prussian war and saying it's of the period.
Warhammer 40k Rogue Trader is an incredible RPG, and I finally got around to finishing it today. Took several restarted playthroughs before I finally found a build that I loved and felt comfortable with the combat system, but this was an incredible game.
It took a couple of weekends of work but I've finally uncoupled myself from OneDrive. 15+ years of accumulated files have been culled, and I'm now running on genuinely 100% self hosted cloud storage.
