@KIN110UofR I found an interesting article on FIFA stating there will be no alcohol at World Cup stadiums, do you with this is to overall limit violence at the events? https://t.co/nWvSRh92HI
@KIN110UofR She stated that she would be set back in her career as a coach by not even being allowed to even watch a practice. I believe women are seen as not knowing as much even when, like this woman they have the experience and passion for the sport 2/2
@KIN110UofR This article talks about women coaches in men's basketball. It discusses one woman, in particular, having to watch behind a 2-way mirror because she might have been a distraction to the players 1/2

@MackenzieMagel@KIN110UofR This article only says that Hockey Canada thinks money is the answer to the problem. Justifying that people in this community need to be afraid of assault. They also confirm that by having this fund, they are waiting for the claims to come, just so they can silence them.
@Addyson_A_Morse@KIN110UofR I do not think it is fair for the athletes who dedicate much time to their sport. Although the connection between sport and government is very strong. If the IOC bans Russian athletes, it also punishes the government, which I believe is the intention here.
@KIN110UofR I think they have definitely adopted a more typical structure. I grew up skiing and transitioned to snowboarding. Same with skateboarding and mountain biking, although I didn't participate. It occurred around me my whole life, and it was a structured activity for all to partake.
@KIN110UofR Since growing up, the playgrounds in my home town have changed a lot. More plastic structures with minimal metal, and lots of safety rails compared to my childhood.
@KIN110UofR We had playgrounds made of wood and metal in many of the places my parents took us. They also didn't watch us. Maybe it was the whole growing up in a small town thing but, it was go and play we will be wherever. It definitely was way more #riskyplay then it is now.
@sam91732613@KIN110UofR I agree @sam91732613 but I don’t think that other have the right to tell you what you should speak, or how much you should know of another language.
@KIN110UofR I think if I had grown up in any time other than this one I would have not even wanted to play sports. Mostly because of the clothing restriction 100 years ago and how the inclusion has changed is just the last 20 years I believe is why I’ve enjoyed the sports I did play.
@KIN110UofR Sport has been in my life since I was a baby. I grew up on the curling rink floor watching my parents play and slowly transitioned into playing many other sports as I grew older. It’s how I met all of my friends here at the University, through Intramural Volleyball.
