@rozjonez@anainsin@Climate_Earth20 Not sure where you got that rubbish from but even the IPCC report low confidence in increased severe storm activity. Anyone suggesting there is, is participating in event attribution = junk science.
@anainsin@rozjonez@Climate_Earth20 You can trust a mainstream media source if you wish.
Having read his work and listened to his presentations, it seems, to me Roger Pielke Jnr is a
far superior source of information.
@rozjonez@anainsin@Climate_Earth20 Challenging alarmist hysteria is not the same as challenging AGW theory. Judith Curry doesn’t deny human caused CC, nor does Hannah Ritchie, Roger Pielke, Steve Koonin or John Christie, they do challenge RCP8.5 and other exaggerated alarmist claims. Even Mann does.
@rozjonez@anainsin@Climate_Earth20 Might be an idea to lay off the cool aid, but whilst we’re on the subject of dodgy graphs, there’s none more so than Michael E Mann’s hockey stick.
@anainsin@rozjonez@Climate_Earth20 They’re not altruistic, they’re in the business of selling and nothing sells like fear. There’s no money in publishing data that doesn’t fit the narrative, there’s no research grant funding either, Sophie.
@rozjonez@anainsin@Climate_Earth20 The Industrial Revolution commenced circa 1770. Since then humanity has flourished both the quality of life and life expectancy has increased significantly. We’d have an abundance of clean energy now but for Luddite organisations like @greenpeace@SierraClub and @friendsoftheea6
@rozjonez@anainsin@Climate_Earth20 Have you read those papers or just the media interpretation?
The media are infatuated with RCP8.5, which the IPCC long ago walked back from bc it’s ludicrous.
I’d suggest you read Hannah Ritchie’s new book.
@anainsin@rozjonez@Climate_Earth20 That doesn’t mean a great deal when consider the earth was experiencing a cyclical cooling period in the C19 and was still emerging from it through 1940. The weather in the 1930’s was considerably more severe and than is being experienced now.
@WHUT@baldandgassy@GeraldKutney Really, so at Los Alamos during the Manhattan Project physicists wrote papers for other physicists to critique? Or perhaps they got together in groups to discuss their hypotheses, develop theories and empirically test those hypotheses and theories? If the latter, that is debate.
