@ALWEFAQ: The British Foreign Office’s report on #Bahrain is a human rights setback

In an incomprehensible & shocking move, the UK Foreign Office has issued its unprofessional annual report, excluding Bahrain from the list of countries violating human rights.

The report has been issued at a time when the Bahraini government is involved in dozens of crimes that violate human rights & infringe the most basic freedoms at various levels. It has also been issued while Bahrain is under a tight security grip, whereby security officials have green light to practice torture, arbitrary arrests, & restrict freedoms. Bahrain has turned into a den to spread fear among those demanding freedom, democracy & justice.

Likewise, it has been issued after shuttle meetings & unethical financial deals between Manama & the UK. Therefore, the portentous report can be labelled as a cheap lie; its date of release is a black day in the history of human rights. It can also be asserted that the UK has neglected the minimal principles of human rights in exchange for bribes.

Al-Wefaq confirms that Bahrain’s rights dilemma is overburdened with heinous violations, and that buying countries’ positions will not change the reality. Equally, the endeavor to cover up the escalating crisis is a failed scheme & evidence of the failure of Bahrain’s regime, and that the British government is the largest sponsor of tyranny, authoritarianism and dictatorships in the world.

Al-Wefaq stresses that human rights violations in Bahrain are escalating and continuing. As of mid-2023, local & int’l rights organisations have documented hundreds of violations, security prosecutions, and unfair trials.

Al-Wefaq points out that the regime’s prisons are overcrowded with political prisoners, and that the diaspora embrace hundreds of exiles & statelessness Bahrainis. In Bahrain, there are dozens of citizens with disabilities & illnesses due to the brutal security grip in prisons. All this in front of the eyes of the world, documented in credible reports, which inevitably reach the British government since 2011.

Al-Wefaq underscores that international reports, including those of UN rights committees & the latest US State Department, have both confirmed that the policy of persecuting Shiite citizens has not only reached its maximum levels, but also amounts to collective punishment.

Al-Wefaq asserts that Bahrain needs a consensual constitution drafted in a legal & democratic manner. This is a starting point for a comprehensive settlement to the accumulated political, economic, sectarian & humanitarian crises, which are result of the absence a constitutional modern state. The support of some countries sponsoring dictatorships and tyranny has also contributed to this.

Whatsoever, the people of Bahrain are steadfast & determined to continue their peaceful and civilised movement until building a true constitutional monarchy instead of authoritarian rule.

In the name of God, the most gracious, the most merciful

The [Bahraini] people will never be humiliated.

With God, His Messenger and the believers, the religious knowledge has a great honourable position. Every believer has a great, honourable position as well. This position becomes greater the more the believer acquires a deeper & broader knowledge about his genuine [Islamic] religion, the more he gets loyal to his religion and knowledge, and the more active he gets in warding off corruption, thwarting deviation, fighting ignorance, corruption and vice, supporting the truth and confronting falsehood, and the more the believer gets able to explain the ugliness & danger of falsehood & defeat it.

The great scholar, Sheikh Muhammad Sanqour is a true example of such a believer who enjoys these feats and honours. He is one of the revered elites that #Bahrain is proud of because of his high value in all these aspects.

The insult and humiliation of Sheikh Muhammad Sanqoor in the Criminal Investigation Centre by the official & security authorities in our dear Bahrain is a Zio---nist demand, which expresses the magnitude of this authority’s [violations] and its willingness to offer the most precious price, even if this price is sanctified by the people, such as their precious religion, their great symbols, and their important interests. The goal of this is to obtain the satisfaction of the Zio--nists & the temporary Is--ra--eli state. Such a step is considered an infringement of internal security, a threat to social peace, a violation of the original identity of the homeland, and a foolish coup against the civilized values.

It is a grave mistake for anyone to think that the people of Bahrain will surrender to any of this, and to sacrifice their scholars & intellectual leaders, who enjoin good and forbid evil, and take upon themselves the task of defending and shielding them from Zio--nist conspiracies for the sake of the illegitimate [Zio---nist] state and its supporters, i.e. thosevin favour of normalization.

It is not possible to silence the voice of Islam in Bahrain, and for its people to abandon their Qur’an, their Prophet, and the approach of their ancestors in taking God’s true servants as their allies, and His enemies as their enemies, or to kneel to anyone but God. No one can buy off these people at the expense of their religion and dignity, nor can they -with their intimidating practices- make them forget their Islamic identity.

What the great scholar, Sheikh Muhammad Sanqour, has said in his sermon at the Friday prayer is nothing but the word of truth that his religion adopts, and the people to whom he belongs approve.

May God help these faithful people who are proud of their religion -creed & law- for what this ever-widening divergence between them and the regime that rules them would lead to. May God save this country from the disasters & horrors of the existing normalization.

#Bahrain’s regime is continuing to normalize relations with the usurping Zio---nist entity, and is declaring its anger against Bahrain’s elites through the arbitrary arrest of the preacher of the largest Friday prayer of the Shiite community, the scholar, jurist & Islamic historian, Sheikh Muhammad Sanqour, under the pretext of his speech on the J-e-w-s and the Zio---nist entity. What do these charges against reflect?

Obviously, the regime was not satisfied with the crime of normalization - which is popularly rejected - and the subsequent agreements in the same context, it wants also to defend the interests of the occupying entity. Therefore, it found nothing but a return to the policies of targeting our prominent scholars and their conciliatory and balanced discourse that touches the suffering of political detainees through the Friday platform. It is not allowed to talk about prisoners of conscience and their grievances because the regime does not only want this platform to remain silent about its transgressions but rather to legitimise them.

Undoubtedly, this is a foolish & escalatory move; It is not separated from the context of perpetuating political repression in Bahrain. It is also a form of abhorrent sectarian persecution and discrimination practised by the regime. The people of Bahrain will raise their voice loudly in condemnation of this blatant targeting.

Bahrainis call for the reopening of a mosque that has been neglected since 2011

#Bahrain-is have widely participated in a massive Twitter campaign launched by @ALWEFAQ, posting pictures of the neglected Sa’asa’a bin Souhan Al-a’abdi Mosque, which has been repeatedly vandalised by unknown persons. However, the authority has never initiated an investigation or arrested any of them.

The Manama authorities have closed the mosque since the events of 2011.

Sa’asa’a bin Souhan Al-a’abdi is an esteemed historical Islamic figure. He was born in Bahrain and descends from one of the ancient and well-known family in the region. Further, he was the companion of Imam Ali bin Abi Talib (PBUH). His burial place is inside the same mosque, which is located in Askar, south of Manama.

The Bahrainis have called on the authorities to reopen the mosque, and called for its immediate restoration and rehabilitation, because it constitutes a cultural & historical landmark for the majority of citizens, and reflects the ancient Islamic identity of the country.

On Twitter, Al Wefaq’s Sayyed Taher Al-Moussawi has pointed out that the continued closure of the Sa’asa shrine and mosque is one of the blatant transgressions of the events of 2011.

Sayyed Al-Moussawi has added that the landmark’s neglect “is proof that Bahrain has not gone beyond that notorious era,” referring to the religious persecution that the Shiite community was subjected to it, as 38 Shiite mosques were deliberately demolished.

“The closure, and specifically the vandalism of the shrine of the great companion Sa’asa’a bin Souhan, represents a blatant challenge to the feelings of many of the [Bahraini] citizens who follow Ahl al-Bayt (pbuh). This -clearly- contradicts the slogans of religious tolerance raised [by the authority].”

#Bahrain’s govt ignores all calls to reopen an arbitrarily-closed mosque

Days after the widespread popular campaign calling for the need to reopen the shrine and mosque of the great companion Sa’asa’a bin Sohan Al-Abdi, which the Manama authorities close by force, and prevent citizens from visiting, the authorities - with all their concerned apparatus - ignore all these calls and deafen their ears from responding.

The authorities arbitrarily close the shrine of the great companion Sa’asa’a bin Sohan Al-Abdi, which is located in the south of Bahrain and is more than 1,300 years old. The religious site has a special place for a large part of Muslims in Bahrain and abroad. Closing it and preventing citizens from visiting it constitutes a flagrant challenge to the feelings and beliefs of citizens, and expresses the extent of persecution of citizens and contempt for their rituals and beliefs.

The Bahraini regime rules with a harsh security grip, confiscates freedoms, and violates all human rights and religions through harsh measures while exploiting slogans and conferences of tolerance and coexistence to cover up its violations, transgressions, and persecution.

@ALWEFAQ hereby calls for the immediate reopening of the Sa’asa’a mosque out of respect for the feelings of citizens and in response to national obligations, and for the cessation of human rights violations and the fight against religious freedom, which is one of the main causes of the suffocating political crisis in this country.
