Horror/crime film and literature fan. Lover of all things dark and twisted. Line cook by day, horror fanatic by night. Punk rock and coffee keep me alive.
James Lee Burke wrote this a few novels ago. Can’t think of a better quote for these days. “Fuck it” may be my mantra for 2021. And, yes, it is a sonnet...
@monstersndrinks@SaxtonCh @GeisterDavid @TheMutantFam Had a lot of fun listening to this episode! I first saw this during the early days of the Covid quarantine phase and had a bit of a different take. It was a quirky film during those days when I had the time to go deep down the rabbit holes... https://t.co/Uiz8rOpUtz
As we draw ever closer to Halloween, it's time to revisit the film I saw as a kid at the drive-in that instilled my love of horror. Pooping my pants terror then; nostalgic horror wonder now...
This French physiological horror flick is one of my fave films of this year. Knew nothing about this going in but it reminded me of Fincher’s filmmaking. Smart, original and gets under your skin

@ScaryStuffPod Loved this one! And... apologies to Nick but this is definitely a horror comedy. Granted, one of the more offbeat and dark horror comedies of the '80s. Thanks for an October nostalgic callback to my high school days!

31 Days of Halloween / Day 8
Cake of Blood (1971) is one of the best movies I watched this year. A Spanish anthology with four stories of historical horror that range from Ancient Rome to the Middle Ages to a 19th century Frankenstein tale.
A lesser-known Hammer chiller perfect for October is The Shadow of the Cat (1961). Heavy on atmosphere and shadow, this has Barbara Shelley in a Victorian mansion full of murder, Gothic family secrets, and a possibly supernatural cat. Streaming on @internetarchive ...
Home from work and reveling in the prospect of 2 days off starting tomorrow. Cue the loud music, Husker Du...

@ScaryStuffPod Will do! Did a fun rewatch of the movie as it's been a while. This was huge with my friends and me back in high school when it came out, so it was fun to revisit.
