@devinamehra UK has had 3x more hectares burnt 2000–2023 than Himachal. Why do you think that is ? Climactic conditions ? Not all of us have to defer to M hegemony, just bcoz you choose to work/live in their society

I have watched so many videos of this guy kicking a rock until it becomes a sphere, and tbh I find the whole thing mesmerizing. What a hilarious use of free will
Normally I ignore any real estate bubble warning. It has never come true.
But the sheer amount of effort that the real estate community and brokers have put in with urgency to refute @VishalBhargava5 pinned video on Gurgaon real estate bubble is telling me he is right
I'm not sure most people truly understand the cost of transitioning from ICE vehicles to electric vehicles.
Are we just moving pollution from city streets to biodiversity hotspots?
Indonesia (~50% of the world's nickel) strip-mines paradise islands.
Congo (~70% of cobalt) destroys communities with child labour.
China controls the minerals that make EVs possible: 90% rare earths, 75% lithium, 80% tungsten.
All of this is powered by coal plants.
There are environmental costs at each step. Are we truly considering all this?
Knowing us(humans), we'll always chase "better technology" over what's better for the planet.
Cleaner streets, yes. But at the cost of dirtier oceans, shattered communities, and forgotten islands?
Once upon a time #Uttarakhand was known for its jal, jungle and jameen; not anymore. Hardly a day or two passes before some video or the other from #Dehradun or some other district does not go viral in the state.
In this recent video, we are being informed that this is the area of Maldevta in the outskirts of Dehradun. It's a short clip of less than a minute and I would like to both request and encourage you to see it fully. The one who has made the video is giving details about the location, the sorry state of the river, the upcoming resort and ongoing plotting, the lack of supervision and the presence of bhu mafia. The narrator ends with the painful and usual refrain of how the state is going to the dogs.
I don't usually like to tag people and particularly the CM of our state @pushkardhami but I do make some exceptions sometimes. In this particular case, I not only request but also ask Mr. Chief Minister to look into this. It's equally important to question why so many violations are happening in our state and that too so rapidly. Just last week we saw the audacious attempt to literally hijack the reserved forest of #Khalanga in Dehradun by a Rishikesh based builder. If you need regulatory support from @bypadavbjp or @moefcc; I am sure they will lend a helping hand. As a nation how can we aspire to become a super power if any tom, dick and harry can have the courage to simply walk in and trample across our sacred land, forests and rivers.
I want to close by saying that these "dacoits of environment" who are defiling the pure and pious soul of Uttarakhand need to be taught a harsh lesson. If I were you, I would show these people the might of the state and ensure that not an inch of our state owned land would be raped and plundered. I feel terribly sad to be writing this knowing well that in all probability you will never even get this message, and even if you do - and this is likely worse - nothing will happen!
