Sri Lanka’s Colombo Metro Transit bus network is expected to be fully operational from September, Transport Minister Bimal Rathnayake has announced.

More than half of Sri Lankans say their household economic situation has worsened over the past year, according to a nationwide survey by the Centre for Policy Alternatives (CPA).
The survey of 1,240 respondents across all 25 districts found that 51.4% reported their household economy had deteriorated, while 30.3% said it remained the same and 18.2% said it had improved.
