We’re excited to open-source HOST — Human-to-robot One-Shot Skill Acquisition — developed by X SQUARE ROBOT together with researchers from @Tsinghua_Uni and @BIT1940.
HOST enables a robot to learn a new manipulation skill from a single human demonstration video, lasting just 29 seconds on average, without task-specific fine-tuning or parameter updates.
Instead of directly copying human movements, HOST:
→Aligns the robot’s execution with the video by task progress
→Predicts the demonstrated outcome from the robot’s own perspective
→Derives the actions needed to achieve that outcome
HOST was evaluated across 50 novel manipulation tasks. On the eight-task benchmark used for baseline comparisons, it achieved a 62% average success rate—43 percentage points above the strongest method without parameter updates.

Donder op met je 'Watertekort'... Echt.
