On this solemn occasion, the people and Armed Forces of Pakistan pay glowing tribute to Major Tufail Muhammad Shaheed and to all martyrs who have laid down their lives in defence of the motherland. Their legacy of courage and patriotism continues to inspire generations and stands as a beacon for all defenders of the nation.

I strongly condemn the reported raid, alleged physical abuse, confiscation of phones and detention of Baloch citizens in Sindh. Racial profiling, enforced disappearances and violence cannot be justified in the name of security.
I urge the @BBhuttoZardari and #Sindh Government to order an immediate, independent and transparent inquiry, establish the whereabouts and ensure the safe return of those still unaccounted for, and hold anyone responsible for unlawful conduct accountable. The law must protect every citizen equally—regardless of ethnicity.

Last night, an apartment I had rented near my residence for my staff was raided by intelligence agencies. All the men’s phones were confiscated and they were subjected to beatings. Some have since been released but none were spared from the violence.

My manager and one of the guards remain unaccounted for and have not been returned.

This is not simply a security matter. The use of racial profiling to target and raid a residence, followed by arbitrary detention, confiscation of personal phones and physical abuse, raises grave human rights concerns.

I am publicly calling for their whereabouts to be confirmed immediately and for their safe return. If there are allegations against anyone, they must be dealt with through a transparent and lawful process, with access to legal representation and all due process protections.
The Sindh government and the PPP cannot wash their hands of the climate of impunity that Baloch people have faced in Sindh.
