#Seattle, May 30, 2026. 11:-20 AM -12:45 PM. Young woman having a mental disturbance, probably from drugs, was screaming and trying to open doors at Metropolitan Market 8500 block of 15th Ave NW. She crossed the street and ended up in the Chase parking lot at 15th NW and NW 87th, where she assaulted an 80-year man who required medical attention. Two citizens held the woman down until cops came and put her in cuffs. While in cuffs the woman could be heard babbling on with nonsense. The woman was taken to jail.
Apparently a tweaker went on a gronkabout at the LA Fitness in Lower Ballard. He was crawling through the ceiling. The first picture below where you can see the damaged ceiling? That's the FA part. The second photo is the FO part.
A homeless man with 28 prior arrests, 13 convictions & 9 active warrants allegedly kidnapped and raped a 15-year-old girl at a Northgate bus stop this week. Joshua Kowalczewski, 36, was free despite his record. The system failed this child.
The King County Regional Homelessness Authority (KCRHA) is officially being dissolved.
All it took was:
❌$533 Million dollars in taxpayer funds
❌$44 Million in the red
❌$13 Million simply gone, unaccounted for
❌5 CEO's
❌5 years of continued failures
❌A registered sex offender board member nominee
❌Missed payments to service providers
❌A $12 BILLION request for funds
❌Accusations of retaliation against staff
And finally...
❌A nearly 50% increase in homelessness

A beloved Seattle burger chain is under siege, its windows shattered and doors splintered again and again in a string of overnight break-ins that the owners said is pushing them to the brink.

Here's why Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson's plan to address homelessness will fail.
Listen to the "service resistant" say they refuse to go into tiny houses.
Btw the egregious drug encampments in Ballard now have chimneys. Unfreaking believable.
A man has been charged with attempted murder for trying to shove a passenger in front of a @SoundTransit train last week.
Police say 26-year-old Elisio Melendez waited behind a man at the Northgate station then shoved him as the train approached.

NEW: Holy crap! We Heart Seattle
just exposed “safe consumption” drug shacks being operated by the Low Income Housing Institute, one of the largest operators of tiny houses for the homeless.
Instead of addiction treatment on site, residents at Interbay Village have the option to smoke all kinds of drugs including fentanyl. Staff are supposed to be watching for overdoses with Narcan shots nearby.
Problem is, LIHI leaders never tout this part of their taxpayer funded operation.
Mayor Katie Wilson and other elected officials have pushed for more of these tiny houses to be opened before the FIFA World Cup in June.
Funny thing is, they never talk about these drug shacks either. This is a scandal. 🧵👇🏽

Sound Transit may be walking back the promise the agency made to voters 10 years ago.
New documents show the Link light rail extension may not reach Ballard or West Seattle amid Sound Transit's massive budget shortfall.
The body of Violet Benjamin, a missing 28-year-old Ballard woman, was recovered Wednesday in the water near a public boat launch at Shilshole Avenue Northwest and 14th Avenue Northwest.
