BREAKING: Tesla just revealed the 2025 Holiday Update, here’s a TLDR:

Maps:
- HOV lanes can be disabled with FSD
- HOV lanes can also automated based on time, location, passenger count & road restrictions
- Grok can now add stops, edit trips, & set destinations based on conversations (only works in assistant mode)
- Can now reorder favorites
- Set home & work by dropping a pin on the map
- Supercharger availability now shows on the left hud
- You can now save a charge limit based on location

ToyBox:
- Can now use the cabin camera to take selfies with filters, stickers, and emojis
- Rave cave now includes rainbow mode
- Lock sound now includes the Tron Light Cycle noise
- Santa Mode adds snowmen, trees, a lock chime & snow
- Can now change the main display cars window tints, add custom wraps, & customize license plates
- Become an astronaut in the ISS docking simulator

Lightshow:
- New lightshow: Jingle Rush
- Can now sync with friends

BREAKING: Tesla is adding support for Apple CarPlay

My thoughts as a someone who used CarPlay DAILY until I got my Model 3

Tesla’s native system is better than CarPlay, plain and simple. HOWEVER, as someone with an iPhone, there are certain features that would be amazing to have if they are INTEGRATED.

Regular CarPlay completely disables the cars native features which straight up would not work on a Tesla (couldn’t access, AC, FSD, Toybox, etc.). CarPlay Ultra somewhat solves this problem, but I think Tesla and Apple need to have a partnership where they build something SPECIFICALLY for Tesla.

This could also then be used in the robotaxis for customers with iPhones.

A couple features they should add:

- Sync favorites with Apple Maps or just straight up use Apple Maps interface. It’s better than Tesla’s current one.

- Sync Find My with maps, would be so fun to see what friends are up to like in GTA

- Use Apple Music from Apple, can’t even que songs on the current version

- Use iMessage. Once again better then Tesla’s current system

- Do NOT use the CarPlay interface. It’s just apps on the screen and the main page shows the map split with what song you are listening too. Tesla has a way better view.
