No matter how heavy the repression in Balochistan becomes, it cannot silence the collective voice of its people. The ongoing crackdown on the Baloch Yakjehti Committee is not about law and order , it is a direct attack on those who dare to speak out against enforced disappearances and demand that the state respect its own constitution and laws.

For over seven months, five BYC leaders have been held in unlawful detention. Yet, despite their imprisonment, the state has failed to silence their conscience. Now, in a blatant display of authoritarianism, these activists are being subjected to jail trials, a practice that undermines every principle of transparency and justice.

In Turbat, our comrades Naz Gul Baloch and Syed Bibi Baloch are facing harassment through their inclusion in the Fourth Schedule, an act of intimidation designed to force them out of political and human rights work. I, too, have been named in dozens of FIRs, and my name has been placed on the Fourth Schedule, NECTA, and the Exit Control List (ECL). Meanwhile, our fellow Nazar Mari has been forcibly disappeared for two months, yet the resistance continues to grow. The state has failed to suppress the voices of Balochistan because this movement is not built on fear , its is built on the unwavering demand for justice and dignity.

On October 19, a protest was held in Quetta for the recovery of Nazar Mari. Recently, demonstrations were organized for the safe return of Wahab Baloch and Nazir Baloch, where families of the disappeared — including Naseeda Baloch, sister of Sagheer Baloch, and Saira, sister of Asif and Rasheed , demand the truth about their missing loved ones. Their courage is a testament to the strength of a people who refuse to be broken.

To those who celebrate the idea of a “hard state,” we ask: How many voices will you silence? How many mothers will you make weep? Can you silence an entire nation? What is happening in Balochistan is not merely protest — it is the eruption of a long-suppressed public anger. The more force is used to contain it, the stronger and more uncontainable it becomes.

Repression, intimidation, and false cases are not solutions. The path to peace and stability lies only in truth, justice, and respect for human rights. The immediate end to enforced disappearances, the release of political prisoners, and an end to the harassment of activists are not demands , they are moral imperatives.

Until that day comes, we will continue to raise our voices — peacefully, courageously, and relentlessly , because no amount of fear can silence the demand for justice, dignity, and freedom in Balochistan.

In 2013, security forces forcibly disappeared Safar Baloch from his home in Hub, Balochistan. His wife, Ganjal, spent years seeking justice—filing complaints, praying, and living with unbearable uncertainty. She died in 2018, still asking, “Where is Safar?”

Enforced disappearance is a grave human rights violation that inflicts endless suffering on families.
