Baloch Literacy Campaign

Baloch literacy campaign highlights the alarming condition of the Government Girls Primary School of Lango Abad, Kadkocha, located in Mastung district of Balochistan.

The school faces severe shortages of essential resources necessary for a school to function on proper basis. The said primary school’s construction is stalled for a year since its foundation by the authorities. As a result, the infrastructure lacks proper boundaries, class rooms, and basic furnitures required for a well-equipped educational environment. Due to the absence of furnitures, the teachers are forced to teach their students on floor mats. Currently, the students attend their classes without textbooks, black/white boards, and fans. Moreover, the school lacks complete electricity. The school’s current conditions illustrates conditions which are divorced from the very criteria of a school and a learning environment. Despite such harsh circumstances, the students still attend their academic activities in such conditions.

Baloch Students Action Committee (@BSAC_org), through Baloch Literacy Campaign (BLC), draws attention to the current conditions of the aforementioned primary school and calls on the authorities to resume the construction of the school on immediate basis to ensure the providing of quality education for the students of the area.

ہمیں واجہ صبا کو سمجھنے کے لئے اُن کی فکری پہلوؤں کو نہ صرف سمجھنا ہے بلکہ اُن کی فکری پہلوؤں کو پڑھ کر اُن پر پوری عمل کرنا ہے، تاکہ ہم اس مقام پر آ پہنچیں کہ وہ کونسے عوامل ہیں جو پروفیسر صبا جیسے کرادر بناتے ہیں۔ ان کی فکری وراثت کو نہ صرف پڑھنا چاہئے بلکہ اس کی تہہ تک پہنچ کر ہر اُس فرد کو یہ یاد دلانا چاہئے کہ وہ ایک باشعور، فکرمند، جزبے سے سرشار، ہمت اور باعمل کرادر تھے جنہوں نے اپنی شعوری بالیدگی اور عمل سے ہم میں ��زاحمت کرنے اور سچ کے ساتھ کھڑے ہونے کی روح پھونک دی۔

آج یہ زمہ داری اُن تمام محقیقین، پروفیسرز، استاد اور دانشوروں پر آتی ہے کہ وہ کس طرح وراثتِ صبا کو مؤثر انداز سے آگے لے جانے کی جدوجہد کریں گے۔ اس فکری وراثت کو نہ صرف ذہن نشین کرنا ہے بلکہ ہر اُس عمل کی طرف محوِسفر ہونا ہے، جس کے لئے صبا نے برملا کہا تھا کہ “میں بولوں گا۔” اور یہ ایک اٹل حقیقت ہے کہ وہ ( واجہ صبا دشتیاری) بولتے گئے۔ اور یہ ہم پر ایک زمہ داری نہیں بلکہ ایک فرض ہے کہ ہم بھی بولتے جائیں، حقیقت سامنے لائیں اور سچ کے ساتھ کھڑے ہوں۔

میں آج اُن کی پندرویں برسی پر انہیں خراج عقیدت پیش کرنے کے ساتھ اُن تم��م استاد، لکھاری، محقیقین، پروفیسرز، دانشور غرض ہر اُس باشعور سے جو صبا کو ایک دانشور سمجھتے ہیں، اور کی فکری شعور سے بخوبی واقف ہیں، یہی درخواست کرتا ہوں کہ وہ صبا کو پڑیں،سمجھیں اور اُن کی شعوری سفر کو آگے بڑھانے کے لئے ��امنے آئیں۔

Peaceful Walk!

A peaceful walk was organised at University of Balochistan against the brutal murder of Professor Ghamkhawar Hayat— an educationist and scholar— and for the safe release of Vice chancellor, pro- vice chancellor and a faculty member of Gwadar University. The walk was held inside the university where a large number of students along with the teachers and professors participated in the walk to demonstrate their protest and solidarity.

The peaceful walk was a symbolic demonstration to protest the brutalities being committed against the education community in Balochistan. It was organised by the Student Organisations Alliance Balochistan, in which central representatives of the organisations participated.

We, through these rallies and peaceful walks, make it crystal clear that any form of violence against the academic and education community including the students shall not be tolerated under any circumstances.
