In memory of Elizabeth Balgobin. Like many in the sector, we are saddened to learn of Elizabeth’s passing. She was a strong advocate for a more inclusive and effective civil society, championing in particular the role that smaller organisations could play.

Elizabeth led several notable groups over the years, including the London Voluntary Service Council and Charities Evaluation Services.

Her warmth and willingness to challenge will be missed by many Londoners, including us.

Our learned and beloved elder, Benjamin Zephaniah is now an ancestor.

To call this crushing news is a massive understatement. He was far too young, far too brilliant and still had so much to offer. A loss we’ll never recover from.

RIP Professor Zephaniah.
