Banks that are posting against their own employees on social media may actually be doing the opposite of what they want. They are making more people notice the strike and ask why bankers are going on strike in the first place.

Today, I was travelling for some work and was sitting in the waiting area at the airport. A group of around 10–12 people was sitting behind me. I heard them talking about the bank strike.

What surprised me was that none of them were bankers but they were still talking about the problems faced by bankers.
They were showing each other the posts shared by banks on social media and discussing them.

One person said something that caught my attention:
“If banks treat their own employees like this..then tomorrow, if customers are not beneficial to the bank or if they don’t get good business and enough interest from them..will they treat those customers in the same way?”

Another person even said, “The situation shown in those AI-generated videos shared by the banks doesn’t even look like reality. These days..people use digital payments even to buy vegetables. So why create such a picture?”

Agreed sir absolutely right , but the problem is staffing , if there are 5 employees in a branch and if they work on rotational basis , then for the Sunday and Saturdays only they need to recruit another 3 staff per branch , that's not in hands of the bankers sir , its the government you need to ask for , that is what we are fighting for , why do we need five day banking , we are stretched and we are understaffed causing extreme stressfull working conditions , but what common public understands is we want to disrupt your services , no sir absolutely not, we are attending on Sunday , it might be sarcasm for people like you who cannot understand the human value in dignity of labour , because we value service we value our bank we are here to serve you today and sir bankers are humans too and when you enjoy someone having to ruin their Sunday plans just to attend office it speaks a lot about you than our ruined Sunday

What IT has done this country in bring up the per capita income is commendable , sir for every job there are pros and cons , mostly in today's society an image and perspective are made even before we have experienced something , bankers are just like IT employees , where work home is option for employees during covid that wasn't the same for bankers , what banking looks secured job IT in todays world might not be , a narrative in this society is stamped on everybody and I respectfully say sir bankers are good human beings and we are ready to serve the common public , common public knows us from morning 10 to evening four , after 4pm the real work starts sir and there is other side of bankers too , please we request you that in your family some banker must be there ask them the mental they go through ... we are all one and no person should live to just work and work and work , we all have just one life , and we shouldn't regret when we are above 60 , how we missed a saturday visit to temple with family or a Sunday movie just to rest due to a tired week ... IT or banking we all are working for our families , please don't go for the lunch break narratives sir go and talk to a psu banker , I know the plight of IT employees lot of my friends are working in IT

The fight for Five-Day Banking must not be seen merely as a struggle for implementation of an agreement that has remained pending for more than 30 months. This is a fight for our existence, our dignity, our families and our fundamental right to a humane working life.

Public Sector Bank employees serve far more customers than our private-sector counterparts. Even with private banks accounting for a substantial share of the banking market, it is overwhelmingly the Public Sector Banks and their employees who carry the burden of Government-sponsored schemes, financial inclusion, social-sector banking and the last-mile delivery of public policy.

We work for institutions owned by the people and for a Government that expects us to reach every citizen. We have never shied away from that responsibility. But those who expect us to serve the nation must also recognise one simple truth:

We are not robots. We are not machines. We are not AI tools. We are human beings.

We have families waiting for us, children who need our time, parents who need our care, and lives beyond targets, reviews, late-night meetings and relentless workplace pressure.

We are not asking for privilege. We are asking for dignity, balance and justice.

The growing culture of excessive working hours, constant pressure and an increasingly toxic work environment cannot become the new normal. Five-Day Banking is one important step towards restoring humanity to our workplaces.

Save the banker. Save the banking family. Respect the commitment already made.

Five-Day Banking is not a luxury.
It is not an unreasonable demand.
It is a just demand whose time has come.

Let us stand together, for ourselves, for our families and for the generations of bankers who will come after us.

March ahead with courage and unity for the three-day strike from 28th to 30th September and make it a resounding success. No fear, no threat and no intimidation can weaken our collective resolve. Officers and employees stand together , we are all strikers in this historic struggle.

And one more thing madam the staff in banks are also just like you are good human beings madam , when you visit a PSU bank look at the front line staff , when they are attending to you , a phone call comes or the manager calls , asks them to open 5 accounts or canvass insurance or call all inoperative account holders and get them activated , maintain inventory has to look after lockers , work as a cash joint custodian , he or she sitting in Frontline, their brains are put into a blender in the first 1 or of the day , and the stress automatically becomes a domino effect and you will see it in their face , and the seriousness kind of feeling they talk with any one of the customers is not intended madam , evening their loved ones come they react the same way , its not how we want things to be but this is all due to age old infra , less recruitment's, one staff multiple tasks what not madam , once go to a psi bank and ask the staff and you will realise they are just good humans put in an oven

answers in your tweet are from the Frontline staff who seriously suffer due to server issue and outdated procedures , why don't you ask the ministry to develop our banks infrastructure , simplify decade old banking procedures and outdated paper work , one thing I finally can guarantee you madam , those counters you are asked to go everytime frome 1 to 2 to 3 and different instructions from each counter is due to operational guidelines given by RBI and DFS from time to time , and when we don't follow them they penalise banks and our possess make us sit 8pm to 9 pm for compliances , go google and see #RBI PENALISED SO AND SO BANK FOR NONCOMPLIANCE INKYC ETC , first they make rules , they are the ones you need to question for troubling you , and why each counter staff say different procedures is that their circulars are always silent and they conduct an audit on the banks and kill the Frontline staff in the name of inspections

if u have a land registration do you do it on a saturday ? If u have to take a driving license test do you take it on a saturday , when u want to invest in stock market do you do it on a saturday , when u want to buy a car do you do it on a saturday , if you have to attend to Court do you do it on a saturday , but why is that sir only bankers have to take an exception
