Words alone are not enough to change our socio-economic and political environments, they need transforming to actions that lead to visible positive examples
LET DOWN BY THOSE SHE SERVED.
She was my friend and confident. She loved Zimbabwe and did so much in the national interest. She did even more for the second republic but the system never recognized her love in return.
In the last few years after Covid she struggled with respiratory issues, diabetes and heart complications. She constantly needed assistance to pay very costly health bills and government never helped, despite the huge role she played for them. Even now, I was laughing at her that she was still supporting CAB3 to prolong the term of those who never cared for her. Rest in peace my friend. We have lost a very powerful patriot.
Now watch them spoil her in death but yet they never looked after her in life.
MPs Recall Petition 🇿🇼
In Zimbabwe, once MPs are elected, citizens are locked out for 5 years no matter the betrayal, corruption, or incompetence. Now imagine being locked for 7 years with the same incompetent and corrupt MPs.
A Recall Clause changes that. It gives power back to the people to remove MPs who fail you Zimbabweans before it’s too late.
Below are countries that already empower citizens this way:
•United States |
•Canada |
•United Kingdom |
•India |
•South Africa
Democracy must not end at the ballot. We elect. We must also be able to correct the mistakes we send to @ParliamentZim.
For those who understand the importance of this call. Take time to go through the attached @UKParliament MPs Recall Clause. Below is the link.

Since we are in the mood to Amend the Constitution, how about we amend the recall clause on Members of Parliament under Section 129 to allow the people of 🇿🇼 to recall their non-performing MPs from @ParliamentZim.
Right now, under the Constitution of Zimbabwe, MPs can effectively be recalled mainly through party mechanisms.
Here is a proposed draft clause: Right to Recall a Member of Parliament.
Right of Recall
Registered voters in a constituency shall have the right to recall their elected Member of Parliament before the expiry of their term of office, in accordance with this section.
Grounds for Recall
A recall may be initiated on any of the following grounds:
(a) Gross misconduct or abuse of office;
(b) Failure to perform parliamentary duties, including persistent absenteeism without reasonable cause;
(c) Violation of the Constitution or any law;
(d) Loss of confidence by the electorate, demonstrated in accordance with subsection (3).
Initiation of Recall Petition
A recall process shall be initiated by a petition signed by not less than [20%–30%] of registered voters in the constituency.
Verification and Referendum
(a) The electoral body shall verify the petition within a prescribed period;
(b) Upon a successful verification, a recall referendum shall be held within [60–90] days;
(c) The Member of Parliament shall be recalled if a majority of valid votes cast support the recall.
Limitations
(a) No recall petition shall be initiated within the first 12 months or last 12 months of a parliamentary term;
(b) A member of Parliament shall not be subjected to more than one recall process within a 12-month period.
Vacancy
Where a Member of Parliament is successfully recalled, the seat shall be declared vacant, and a by-election shall be held in accordance with electoral law.

@highlight Following #Zimbabwe#constitution
Patrick Chinamasa is the legal brains of ZANU-PF, and from what we now know is that, there is a video of him telling ZANU-PF Congress that the constitutional amendment tabled by Ziyambi Ziyambi a few days ago goes through two referendums. The idea of by-passing the referendum has predominantly been advanced by @ProfJNMoyo. Herein lies the problem. Surely, such a significant material change to the constitution should be tabled before the people or else anything peddled as an amendment is a decree.
@NtateRanaka@bvanyangu8@ignitive3_0@DivhaAfrica@RexMidzi@HarareNdini@Mavhure@matigary We obsess over paper qualifications, yet ignore outcomes. In Zimbabwe, political relevance isn’t measured by O’ Levels or PhDs, but by access to power and the wealth it generates. The real question isn’t his certificates, it’s the system that rewards proximity over competence.
Am I the only one who finds social media as a comfortable space for people to express their opinions but with very little influence in changing the problems that are highlighted ?👀
@begottensun I’m following with great interest. I’m several steps behind you, also started building elevated goat pen and fencing the perimeter using similar methods. We burn and use used oil for the bottom of poles.
@begottensun Looks like there’s no other effective strategy than that, I guess just have to be patiently consistent with that approach. Thanks for sharing.
No lies detected.
There needs to be a balance that can also boost citizens towards economic prosperity that builds generational wealth. These taxes are indeed starting to look like measures designed to keep citizens strained and dependent upon charitable giving.
Mthuli Ncube’s tax-and-spend approach is steadily pushing Zimbabweans into poverty. In Zimbabwe:
Work? overTAXED
Save? TAXED
Pension? TAXED
Buy a home? TAXED
Sell a home? TAXED
Buy a car? TAXED
Drive it? TAXED
Eat? TAXED
Drink? TAXED
Shop? TAXED
Invest? TAXED
Send money? TAXED
International Digital services?TAXED
Inheritance? TAXED
Spend your money? TAXED
Innovation? TAXED
Die? STILL TAXED
This is not economic management @ZimTreasury. Normally, when an economy is struggling, governments:
• Lower taxes
• Reduce interest rates
• Support small businesses
• Encourage investment
They don’t behave like loan sharks squeezing the last dollar from the poor. No major boost to incomes, no adjustments in PAYE thresholds, and weak social safety nets mean many households will struggle to absorb rising costs.
Give the people a break and also stop spending on cars while social services suffer, it's too much. Plus, a lot of money is being channeled to presidential schemes and not the normal channels, making it difficult to trace and track where the money is going.
@RexMidzi Is it beauty and brains, beauty and culture or beauty and stupidity? I know some who are scared of beauty and brains and love them cultured or simple friendly.
Zimbabwe is massive Starlink customer, this is caused by poor local services from local ISPs and higher data charges. @Starlink@elonmusk@SpaceX can you please assist us by establishing Starlink Ground station in Harare. Zimbabweans have already embraced your products but capacity is now affecting us.
@NtateRanaka@MOGGwanda@CGChange2023@NtepeRadio This needs urgent attention, maybe residents can start the action but digging trenches to divert water with collaboration with relevant authorities. Clearly it requires some serious planning by quafied officials.
“Hatred can be addictive. It clouds judgment and blinds us to reason.
Sometimes we just need to pause and give credit where it’s due, even to those whose past actions we may not agree with.” ~Sipho N Banana 2025
