@NEDKC_1 @SimonspenceKC @thetimes for their actions.
The partial defence was not applied to attempted murder because the death penalty was not mandatory for that offence.
Diminished responsibility is, therefore, something of a relic of a bygone age and it may be that an all-encompassing review is overdue.
@NEDKC_1 @SimonspenceKC @thetimes The public do not, perhaps, understand that the partial defence of diminished responsibiity was first introuced in 1957, when the mandatory penalty for murder (subject to commutation) was death. Many rightly balked at the idea of executing those who were not entirely responsible
@TonyEvans92a The fact that they've known of Jurgen's planned departure since November, and the fact that all the frontline coaches are also leaving, leads me to believe that the successor is already signed up and all announcements to the contrary are merely to preserve confidentiality.
@NickyAllt The fact that his entire frontline coaching staff are leaving as well would suggest to me that his successor has already been appointed and contracts signed.
