This week, GAO found that the Trump administration illegally withheld more than $1 billion for environmental and health care research programs—the latest in more than a half-dozen such findings.

There must be accountability for the rampant illegality. https://t.co/2H6lbbvGXm

On January 8, 1888, 19-year-old Kate Kampen gave birth to her son, Henry Royal Kampen, alone in a freezing sod cabin on the Dakota prairie. Her husband, Wilhelm, had left the previous day to travel 23 miles to Parker for coal and food, unaware that their baby would arrive while he was gone. With their supplies nearly exhausted, the coal bin empty, and no doctor or midwife nearby, Kate faced an unimaginable situation. She wrapped her newborn in every scrap of cloth she could find, climbed into bed, and held him against her bare skin, using her own body heat to keep him alive. She had no way of knowing that an even greater danger was approaching.

On January 12, the devastating Children’s Blizzard swept across the Great Plains, bringing ferocious winds, blinding snow, and temperatures plunging far below zero. Hundreds of people were caught in the storm, and 235 lives were lost. Wilhelm was stranded in the open prairie when the blizzard struck. After his horses collapsed, he stumbled toward shelter and eventually crawled into a barn, where he survived for three days by huddling among pigs for warmth. Meanwhile, Kate remained in the cabin, holding Henry close through the freezing nights, with no fire, no help, and no certainty that her husband would ever return. For days, her own warmth and determination became her newborn’s only protection against the deadly cold.

When the storm finally passed, Wilhelm made his way home, frostbitten and barely able to stand, but alive. He built a fire, and the cabin slowly warmed again. Kate and Henry had survived against extraordinary odds. The couple went on to raise seven children, build a life on the prairie, and Kate lived into her nineties. Her story is a powerful reminder that courage does not always announce itself with grand gestures. Sometimes, it is a frightened young mother lying in the darkness, refusing to let go of her child. The world may never know the names of countless ordinary heroes, but their extraordinary acts of love and survival deserve to be remembered.

A message to all sane Republicans: He pardoned 1,600 violent criminals. You said nothing. He bulldozed the East Wing. You said nothing. He interfered with the release of the Epstein files. You said nothing. He took over the Kennedy Center and renamed it after himself. You said nothing. He accepted a $400 million airplane as a personal gift. You said nothing. He threatened Canada, Cuba, Denmark, Greenland, Venezuela, Colombia, and Brazil. You said nothing. He tariffed just about everyone but Russia, causing inflation and instability worldwide. You said nothing. He attacked a nation during mediated negotiations. You said nothing. His ill-conceived war killed 175 children on day one. You said nothing. He alienated and insulted our allies. You said nothing. His ICE Army terrorized and murdered U.S. citizens. You said nothing. He committed murder on the high seas. You said nothing. He co-opted the Justice Department and directed it to prosecute his political enemies. You said nothing. It's time to start talking!!!

It's long overdue!!!!

Some of you have asked for an update on Bony, the galga who sadly had to leave her family home, and she was very, very sad.
You all shared her story so much, and guess what?
She was reserved fairly quickly and is due to leave very soon.
However, she lost a little weight while she was here, and we tried giving her extra meals, cooking chicken and rice for her, but unfortunately, that didn’t really help.
So we decided to arrange some further veterinary checks, just to make sure there wasn’t an underlying health issue, as it would have been easy to assume that her weight loss was simply because she was sad and struggling.
Well, it turns out she has an abscess in her mouth, which isn’t visible to the naked eye but was detected on an X-ray.
Thankfully, she’ll start medication immediately, and she’ll be on her way to her new home very, very soon. ❤️🐾
FYI in the last scene she’s slightly sedated still so don’t panic 💕

If this is true, it should be national news.

90-year-old Army vet. He claims the city of Lubbock killed his dog after he filed an appeal.

"Doesn't matter," he says the court told him after conceding that the city usurped its jurisdiction. "The dog's already dead."

I don't know the full truth here, so I am not making claims. But we should expose this so all the facts come to light.

Please share the hell out of this story.

NO SURPRISE…THE TRUMP REGIME IS TRYING TO SHUT DOWN SPEECH THEY DO NOT LIKE. I STAND WITH @JoJoFromJerz
A single mother in New Jersey says a lawyer for President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump warned, in a message relayed to her by another attorney, that she would lose her home, be bankrupted and end up on the street with her kids.

Joanne Carducci, known online as JoJo From Jerz and followed by more than a million people, told the Medias Touch podcast of an ordeal that has lasted months.

She says it began with a letter, several pages long, from the Trumps' personal attorney in Florida, "the same attorney that was handling the IRS case and the ABC case," she told host Ken Harbaugh. It demanded that she retract things she had said online, including a claim that Trump incited a de*dly insurrection against the U.S. Capitol. It also called for a full apology, an admission that she had knowingly lied, and a payment that had not yet been named. It set a deadline of a few days and warned of punitive damages.

Carducci says a prominent attorney first offered to help her for free, then changed course after speaking with the Florida lawyer. His advice, she says, was to meet every demand because the Trumps have "inexhaustible resources." She says she is paraphrasing her attorney's account of his call with the Florida lawyer, but that his exact words to her were: "They're going to take your house. It's the only asset you have. They're going to bankrupt you and you're going to end up on the street with your kids."

She says one million dollars was demanded at one point. Carducci says she once earned $16 an hour as a paraprofessional and rebuilt her life with no credit after a brutal divorce. She says she never considered giving in, and that her children still do not know.

Former New Jersey Attorney General Matt Platkin offered to help with part of her case for free, she says. She decided to go public after hearing Melania Trump on the news congratulating herself for empowering women.

"I'm still terrified, but I'm done being quiet about it."

FUN FACT: After all the voting days Speaker Mike Johnson canceled this year, the House is on track for roughly 105 days in session in 2026.

He’ll still collect his full $223,500 Speaker’s salary.

And he wants two more years.

Abdul El-Sayed: “I think billionaires should pay their fair share back into the system. I think we should tax billionaire wealth. Take some of that money, bring it back to public education. Take some of that money, build schools and roads, provide healthcare, provide childcare. I am a capitalist, but I believe too many people can’t participate in capitalism because what we have right now is actually corporatism”

Caught red-handed with sensitive national defense documents he was not legally entitled to possess, Trump obstructed justice by moving them around to evade detection. Now, he has the audacity to blame the investigators. His mentor, Roy Cohn, would be proud. Gift link

🚨🚨NO WAY: DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin was asked whether livestreaming the execution of Fort Hood killer Nidal Hasan could turn him into a martyr and inspire more terrorism.

His response? “No one has to watch it.” Brennan asked the obvious: Then why broadcast it? Mullin pivoted to Trump “restoring American values.”

Think about that. The question wasn’t whether a man who murdered 13 people deserved punishment.

It was whether broadcasting his death could create another national security threat.

Even Republican senators have raised that concern.

Mullin still hasn’t explained why the livestream is necessary.
