Uganda President Museveni talks a lot about how Science is king and the magic that will save Uganda, and Arts and Social Sciences are “useless” and shouldn’t get state funding. Then the kids study Medical Sciences and when they ask for small change to begin putting the science into practice, they are told no money, and those who protest are hammered or jailed. Meanwhile a “useless” arts and social sciences institution like Parliament (we won’t mention State House) get many times more money - in the billions - just to buy second-rate tea, mandanzi, and cakes for MPs. What are we not getting? Did Parliament and State House become vaunted academies of sciences and we missed the memo?
These Ugandans are dying of depression thanks to a government supposed to protect them. Last year it was the wife of John Bosco Kibalama whose husband was disappeared in 2019. Now it is the wife of Ddamulira. Both leaving young children on their own.. let me not even begin to speak about the families of those in illegal detention and how the lives and future of their children have been completely ruined!
The state’s scripted attempt to convict our leaders Dr. Kizza Besigye and Hajji Obeid Lutale through a compromised process will NOT stand. Justice Baguma Emmanuel may be ready to follow a political script ordered by the state, but he has deeply underestimated the power of defiance!
For decades, Dr. Besigye’s name has been synonymous with the struggle for justice, freedom, and an unwavering refusal to bend to intimidation. Refusal to appear in court sent a roaring message to the regime; "sometimes a no-show speaks louder than a walk-out."
While the state expects people to fear the walls of Luzira prison, our leaders chose those confines over participating in a judicial hanging disguised as the law.
Justice Baguma is grossly biased and cannot offer an impartial trial to our leaders. While we note that he has now yielded to listening to pending applications before returning to his script, our stance remains unchanged. He must recuse himself or we shall deploy every means, mobilization and constitutional action to force him back to the judicial oath he took to serve the people, not the state.
The state's cowardly goal is a pre-determined conviction. We are meeting this injustice with absolute truth, relentless agitation and the fierce defense of constitutional principles.
We call upon all freedom-loving Ugandans to stand firm, stand united and reject this judicial persecution.

As the nation celebrates Heroes' Day, the People’s Front for Freedom celebrates a man whose entire life has become synonymous with the word freedom; Dr. Kizza Besigye.
True heroes aren't just found in history books, they walk among us. Dr. Besigye is the man who has taught an entire country how to stand up, shake off fear and speak out against injustice. For decades, he has selflessly carried the weight and aspirations of our nation on his shoulders. His refusal to back down makes his legacy even more unshakable.
The road to justice has been long and filled with immense sacrifice, but his resolve has never wavered. Dr. Kizza Besigye has clearly stated that he will NEVER give up until this struggle is over. Until true freedom, equal justice and power belong back to the people of Uganda.
Dr. Kizza Besigye, you're revered. We honor a living legend. We honor resilience. We honor freedom.

When a judge walks out on Dr. @kizzabesigye1, it exposes the rot in our judicial system. It’s no longer about justice; it’s a cover for state-sponsored persecution.
A shameful display, but our resolve remains unshaken. We shall overcome.

Dear brother @ReachDrMuganga, there is more to raise your well earned profile than this little ministerial position. Please stop sulking openly, pick up your pieces and do what you do best. You’re already a star in transformative education advocacy. Let’s put all efforts here. Bakuwabya!
Kampala is overcrowded because too many people think success only exists in Kampala.
There is land, opportunity, and room to grow beyond the city. The real challenge is changing our mindset.

It's hard for me to explain to those outside #Uganda just how irritated the Ugandans are to be lumped in with DRC for the #Ebola epidemic. As of this writing, there have been hundreds of deaths and over 1000 cases in Congo, whereas Uganda has had only 9 cases -- three Congolese, four medical workers who treated them, one driver who drove them, and one other known contact. Only one person has died in Uganda, a Congolese.
So when WHO and Al Jazeera talks about the Ebola epidemic in "Congo and Uganda," it's like saying because there are wildfires in California, you should cancel a trip to the Grand Canyon because some Californians lit a campfire there. Yes, it is possible it *could* spread and you have to be vigilant, but these two situations are nowhere near the same magnitude.
As of this writing, the only Ugandan death has been the tourism industry.
