@suni_code Made this video about it a year ago: https://t.co/tS7BH1xCbd
Short answer; you cannot compete with the frontier AI labs! They can simply copy you. And bundle your product into their existing product bundle. Which is exactly what happened.
@themishra4402 Well, I made this video more than 1 year ago. While it focuses on Perplexity, I think it explains quite well what happened to all of them: https://t.co/tS7BH1xCbd
Skip to the last half if you are not interested in Perplexity specifically
1 year ago I made a YouTube video where I predicted @perplexity_ai's downfall.
It holds up surprisingly well.
The most important idea is - what is their moat, and how are they supposed to compete against players like OpenAI and anthropic?

We have already seen this with Claude Code / Codex.
Adding search and research to their application (Perplexity's main products) is such an easy task for them, that I don't know why anyone would use Perplexity in a few years if you already use Claude or ChatGPT
@TeamYouTube Can you help identify if my channel got shadow-banned or flagged for mentioning certain subjects or something like this?
Despite good AVD and CTR I am getting way fewer impressions than normally. Is it because my video implicitly mentions suicide?
@ThePeterMick But I just feel like the struggling through a problem is what actually make you learn something. And it feels like an accomplishment compared to just prompting an AI
@NickFreiling I agree that I do not believe AI to be conscious. But seriously, how will we know? If our arrangement of atoms can produce consciousness, then why wouldn't a different arrangement of atoms be able to produce the same?
@soychotic Yeah bu it is wild that just a year ago most people thought they had did a great job. Such as making private repos free.
Just a year ago I made this video, and the GitHub part aged very poorly very fast
