After a 14-year battle, trustees Stephen Kenny and Liam Curran are delighted to announce that the #BaringHallHotel pub in #GrovePark has finally been saved! It has now been bought by a successful pub operator. Sometimes we never thought we would make this announcement!....
Thank you Deputy Mayor @Metecoban92 & @LDn_environment for visiting the Railway Children Urban National Park — a truly valued landscape. A pleasure to share our plans to enhance biodiversity, celebrate its heritage, and improve access & inclusion for all.
Access to nature shouldn’t be a luxury for Londoners.
Great to visit Grove Park Nature Reserve with Lewisham Cllrs and the local community to see the impact of community-led work transforming green spaces.
Projects like this helped inspire City Hall’s new Green Roots Fund 🌱✌🏾
This week, Deputy Mayor @metecoban92 visited @groveparkSE12 to see the @BaringTrust vision for Grove Park District Park, where they have created new accessible and nature-rich green space for the local community.
Grove Park Library Gardens is London’s 2nd Saddest Playground. Now is the time to show it some love. There is huge scope for a community group to improve the park and that it could potentially be really lovely.
This Earth Day 2024, help support CPRE London’s ‘Big Give’ campaign to bring derelict sites in London back into use as parks and nature reserves.

8. Grove Park Nature Reserve in @LewishamCouncil, next to the home of Railway Children author. Owners hoping for profit want to build on it and are destroying the habitat. Locals want a new identify as the Railway Children Park @SocietyLadywell @GroverParkSE12
The bug hotel at the beautiful @CroftonGarden 🐞🪲🐝🐜is now complete with some lovely wooden boxes painted. Let’s hope the insects appreciate the hotel & enjoy their stay! #ABugsLife#HappyDays
@JaneCanDoSE4@CroftonGarden Saw these on Monday - absolutely gorgeous. Building a love for all creatures great & small from an early age. The garden was buzzing with curious kids & looked glorious!
So thrilled to hear that Lewisham has won 3 grants from the Rewild London Fund to enhance biodiversity at 3 separate sites including work to enhance the Railway Children District Park in Grove Park. Thank you to everyone involved https://t.co/EVRF5y0sEs

Neil Rhind MBE 1937-2024. It is with great regret that the Society has to announce that our President Neil Rhind died on Saturday 10 February. He was a remarkable resident of Blackheath all his life and will be profoundly missed. https://t.co/CwSLpfuSTm
here's @LewishamCouncil's reply. Very passive. Zero interim measures being enforced while investigations take place. The @GroveParkSE12 are requesting a meeting with @Brenda_Dacres to raise this with her directly. Political leadership required.
This is #climateBreakdown in action.
It's not an accident, it's not a natural process.
It's people making decisions based on greed.
And the institutions that are supposed to protect us letting it happen.

Act, now.
