When Bookworms grow up they become Book dragons!
Everything in this #cake is edible including the tiny #Nevermoor I have had such fun with rice paper, edible inks, and my first time sculpting rice Kristie treats! Hope she never gets too old for fun cakes.
In NorthEast India, there were reports of personnel at polling stations dying from the heat. In Delhi temperatures hit 49.9C & there were protests over water shortages. Yet climate change wasn't part of the election campaign. It's only going to get hotter. https://t.co/aSX8IcrBxv
I spent twenty years growing vegetables commercially for the good people of this country. The weather got exponentially worse, e.g., 7 weeks of rain everyday; 12 weeks with no rain, and so on. I know what is going to happen - not because of these particularly bad years, but because of the speed at which things are getting worse now.
The reason is obvious - we are standing by and letting the elites put carbon into the air between 8 and 30 times faster than at any time in the last four billion years of this planet's history.
So what is going to happen to the good people of this country? If you are still asking that question you just haven't yet understood what is going on here.

"Don't even think about wild swimming here... Treat the river as if it is a biohazard".
@SteveBackshall broadcaster, author and naturalist reveals the utterly shocking if not potentially lethal lab results he got from water testing in the River Thames. 🤮🤮🤮
… Bookworm confirms #Keedie is “really good” - unsurprising as we both loved #AKindOfSpark However she is once again without a new book to read. Good thing she still has some booktokens left - off to the bookshop it is.

Bookworm got home from visiting her cousins yesterday #Keedie by @BooksandChokers had arrived while she was away. I just about managed to get her to unpack before she sat down with it… didn’t stir until she turned the final page. Read it in one sitting. Guess it is good then
There was a section in the JL vs Sewage doc we didn't manage to fit in about the effect of all this on the coastal economy.
There's a tendency to think this is just a bit gross and only affects swimmers, but it actually has a huge knock on effect for jobs and businesses too. Lots of them are closing early or entirely due to decreased footfall. It's not just some shit in a river, it's people's livelihoods.
Plenty of nicely paid work available if you happen to be water company CEO, though!

There was some big news this week which should have been top of the news agenda - the fact that it wasn’t and the story that dominated the public space instead tells a worrying story about the priorities of many in this country 🧵
