@TheVallyD This post is a synchronicity for me. Earlier today I overheard someone introduce himself as "Eric Olsen." The first thing I thought was "tiny nipples Vaughn."
"Be careful whose advice you buy, but, be patient with those who supply it. Advice is a form of nostalgia, dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth."
@coldhardsats I was a senior in high school in 1999 when The Sunscreen song came out. It actually begins with the words "Ladies and gentlemen of the class of '99..." and was in the form of a commencement address.
Graduate wasn't ever great. Semi-Charmed Kinda Life was their intro & their apex
Watching Masters of the Universe I couldn’t quite place why the song “Eternia” sounded so familiar. Couple days later it hits me: It’s the Fratelli Chase from The Goonies score, just slowed down and played by synthesizers.
Kinda funny that in Masters of the Universe you've got at least three British actors doing American accents and an American actor doing a British accent.
@tirmakfin@leftsidehist Race, age, gender of all perpetrators and victims in these stories should be stated plainly, as should a clear comprehensive list of all prescription pharmaceuticals prescribed to the perpetrators over the previous 10 years including the names of the doctors that prescribed them.
One of my favorite exchanges in whole show. "Dewy morning's lost its appeal," has always struck me as Deadwood's core distilled into a single line. On the thin boarder between civilization and the wild choosing restraint may be the best survival tactic.
Deadwood at its best.
@McCarthy_JT This is an important point that most people gloss over. I've harped on this with other topics (political commentary, conspiracy theories etc) for years.
There is no such thing as "Former CIA" et al. Even if there is? For practical reasons you have to assume that there isn't.
NEW - The White House announces https://t.co/pt40lB3WWW is live, it is related to illegal immigration and shows the following message upon clicking
“For 60 years, the U.S. government has kept a closely guarded secret.
Aliens have been walking among us, living in our neighborhoods, and interacting with us in our daily lives.
They've shopped in the same stores, attended the same classes as our children, and lived seemingly normal human existences.
With one exception — they do not belong here.
Millions arrived under the cover of darkness and embedded themselves directly into our society.
Countless presidents, congressmen, and senior officials knew exactly what was happening.
Instead of protecting American citizens, they chose to cover it up and even accelerate the invasion.
Until one man finally had the courage to tell the truth.
Bold. Unapologetic. Unafraid.
President Trump was the first to call out the real danger Aliens pose to every American family, every community, and the future of our nation.
The truth is no longer out there. It is right here. Right now.”
PICARD: Data, shields up
DATA: Brilliant! Shields can reduce damage we sustain. Not immunity. Not hubris. Just prudence. It's not precaution—it's strategy.
[camera shakes]
WORF: HULL BREACHES ON NINE DECKS
DATA: Here's what happened: you told me to raise shields, and I didn't
@tirmakfin lol not Frolly! The guy who wanted to be a "outlaw!" I think he might have been in the campaign where they created the pamphlets that tried to ruin the good NPC's reputation? He was basically Walton Goggins from Justified.
