As I said earlier the Preakness was a glorified overnight stakes at best. I still think Plutarch was the best 3year old if he didnโt get injured. Wonderful pedigree and ran 7 3/4 early 3 year old at a mile.

One of the greatest promotional races that racing has ever had. Over 80,000 in attendance !!! #MarjorieEverett
The Best
@DCHI23 You are absolutely right. They have the most put downs of any organization. They prey on people's kindness towards animals for donations and line their pockets!! Great call Don
@FanDuel_Racing@curtiskalleward@CalebFDTV Baseball isnโt changing the rules like the triple crown for the offensive player or defensive player. There is a reason in baseball only 15 players have accomplished the Triple Crown!!!
@Steve_Byk@JonLindo60 The Preakness Stake was basically a overnight stake on the Rags. The Derby was as well with all the top contenders bouncing off their tops & multiple efforts coming into the Derby. Sovereignty went NL 10 & gave you a 6 on Derby Day. Where as Renegade gave you a top 6 & ran a 10
@DCHI23 Agree **'s forever not the same as the true champions achieved. Maybe a group of owners could get Corporations to put up the
$$$ for Triple Crown Bonus for 5 mil & 2 million for most points earned in the Triple Crown Series if nobody wins Triple Crown
#NoBull@RepoleStable
@DCHI23 Back in the day, Spend A Buck won the Jersey Series and the Kentucky Derby, and if he'd won the Jersey Derby, he would've gotten a $2 million bonus. He skipped the Preakness and won 2 Mil
Put up Triple Crown Bonus 3 million total points earned.
THEY WILL RUN

It's wonderful to see owners who truly love the game and are giving back to racing for all it's done for them. That kind of dedication is rare these days! #Owners#Game#Racing
I am old enough to remember when Journalism ran in all three legs of the Triple Crown and ran well in all three. And then came back the following month to win the Haskell. And then came back to run at 4. The good old days!
Just a note on how different people trained & made horses tougher and more durable. Ferdinand ran in the SA Derby & his works 2 wks out from the KY Derby were a mile in company with Oaks favorite Hidden Light in 138.4, back in a week in 58.3, and a blowout 2 days before the race.
I'm not sure I have an opinion on that I was just responding to your comment that horsemen hate the spacing and that it's deleterious (I had to look that up!) to the animals, I'm probably crazy but I actually enjoyed the challenge and my horse was doing great so I never thought twice about it. And I am definitely not questioning Cherie or Bill, they are both fantastic trainers. I do think it would be a shame if the spacing becomes to great because that is part of the challenge and what keeps peoples attention, we have short attention spans these days. I'm sure its going to change at some point but I will say there was nothing cooler than coming to Pimlico with the Derby winner ๐น๐
