What do think about adding a safe room in the shop area of the Barndominium. Lots of time using mason block to create protection with solid door. Pre-Pour Foundation on this Shell-only Barndominium. A combination of Living & Shop combined for over 4,000 sqft under roof. On this project the soil test told us that they had a Potential Vertical Rise (PVR) of 6”. That’s a lot of movement, so we were able to have the engineer make recommendations for piers and design the foundation specifically for this area.

What do you think about water curing a foundation for 30 days during the summer. Because of the size of equipment we use while building our Hybrid Steel Frame Structures, we routinely wait at least 3 weeks for the foundation to cure before moving our large equipment on site. On this project our client was very persistent at watering the foundation multiple times per day which proved to be great results in this case. Here discussing the step down form for our overhead doors on the pre-pour inspection just before foundation is about ready to pour.
