@iainpope73 Bottleneck points to the way forward. Sense of arrival from the steps is congestion hell. A formally designed public square. Relocate escalators to south elevation. The lift provides a superb example of enfolding view (if cleaned). Reintroduce the tourist info office.
@theSpurtle@edinhelp I tripped over one of those blasted things before Christmas. Landed on my face. Needed antibiotics to clear up a resultant eye infection
@thecockburn@deadlinenews Each non forestry whip seems to have its own watering pipe. I cycled along the route yesterday and most seem to be alive. The surroundings is looking like scorched earth. Am wondering if the watering pipes are in fact being used. Should be under contractual maintenance?
@thecockburn Princes Street is reinventing itself with the big corporate retail outlets moving to St James. Hospitality uses are well suited to Princes St given the south facing aspect with good views. Remember how βdeadβ the upper floor windows were when retail was king.
@thecockburn The architects of the turd should have thought of the issue of a βposhβ pick up earlier. Remember, the North British built a private lift access and corridor into Waverley specifically for their customers
@Laura23594365@EdinburghLive_ I agree about the use of the space prior to this current development but that just highlights the fact that the whole concept was poorly conceived from the start. The owners have tried to guild a turd with fake gold! The St James quarter shows what can be done with plaza space
@scottedge0 @CyclingWorlds @Edinburgh_CC@edinburghcastle@UCI_cycling@VisitScotland@Scotland I know an ex reporter from BBC Scotland, which is of course based in Glasgow. I asked once why a big Scottish event was poorly covered. He said that unless they could see it outside the HQ windows, or it was football, they werenβt interested. BBC Reporting Glasvegas!
