The real test before we pay: pull our last 90 days of posts. If most of our engagement isn't from verified accounts already, Premium won't fix that. Better content and probably a tighter niche will.
The math we should be running before subscribing: are we already reaching Premium subscribers, or are we hoping the badge itself will attract them?
Those are two very different bets and only one of them is worth $8-40 a month.
A question I have been asking myself honestly all day, am i subscribing because I am close to qualifying, or because everyone else is and I don't want to miss out?
One of those is strategy. The other is FOMO wearing a badge.
Small accounts are about to learn the difference between reach and reach that pays.
We can have 2 million impressions today and still not qualify if NONE of it landed in a subscriber's Home Timeline.
It's the Community Shield, but getting cooked 3-0 before September is definitely a red flag.
Maresca may not survive 2026
Arsenal setting the standard early.
Things that get more engagement than actual insight:
โ confessing something mildly embarrassing
โ disagreeing with someone bigger than us
โ a screenshot with no context
โ "I used to think X, now I think Y"
We've all used at least two of these this month.
nobody warns you that growing an audience means your worst take usually gets your best reach.
we learn this the hard way, then we start doing it on purpose.
We call it "building in public" until the numbers dip, then it quietly becomes "taking a break."
That said, I will be taking a very short break from X subscription to assess if it is worth it.
Our old strategy was chase reach.
now, 500K impressions sounds small until we find out none of our free-tier audience counts toward it.
what is our new strategy???
Yep, It has come to this. I went to church to pray for Premium subscriber impressions specifically!
I need my blessings in verified impressions.
Happy Sunday Folks!!
The quiet thing about growing an audience here: our worst month for numbers is usually our most honest month for content.
Then we go back to the format that works and feel a little dead inside doing it.
Every single tech founder's pitch in 2026 is just taking a simple problem that was solved in 1995, slapping "AI & Blockchain" on it, raising $10M from VCs, and leaving regular retail investors holding the bag two years later.
We are rapidly moving toward a world where you won't own your car, your house, your music, or even your digital identity. Everything will be a tokenized, recurring subscription that gets automatically revoked the second your social credit or wallet balance dips.
