Looking forward to this @LocalContexts webinar where I get to chat about how Leann Wilson & I used a TK Notice for our @AandM_Journal article โGreen ribbon and blue ribbon storiesโ. Hope to see you there!
Our "Local Contexts for Researchers" webinar will be held next week! Join us to learn how the Notices can be used to create pathways for partnership & collaboration, & support Indigenous cultural authority & data sovereignty. Details & registration: https://t.co/toU0DIRqwR
@MJA_Editor We'd love to hear from you if you do use it. This guide is aimed at undergrads, teachers & liaison librarians but can be used by anyone to help them 1) critically assess sources of Indigenous knowledge, and 2)give appropriate attribution.
Up now on the @IndigArchives blog: the 'Indigenous Referencing Guide for Indigenous Knowledges' produced by CAVAL and Indigenous Archive Collective members (Shannon Faulkhead, Kirsten Thorpe, Lauren Booker, Nathan Sentance & me). https://t.co/rUOyJxrKpV

โGreen Ribbon and Blue Ribbon Stories: Applying a Bidjara Way of Knowing to Understanding Records,โ by Leann Wilson & @BarrowcliffeR introduces a conceptual framework based on Bidjara green ribbon & blue ribbon stories, & uses the 1st TK Notice on a publication ๐ Link below
I am proud to say that this is the first time a TK Notice has been used in an academic journal article. The article is open access and can be read and shared using this link: https://t.co/Kmv8oWEIGh
It has been an honour to collaborate with Leann Wilson (Bidjara) on our journal article "Green Ribbon and Blue Ribbon Stories: Applying a Bidjara Way of Knowing to Understanding Records"

Leann and I worked with Jessie Lymn, Archive and Manuscripts editor, & @LocalContexts to add a TK Notice to indicate that the journal article has cultural rights and responsibilities considerations that go beyond copyright and creative commons licensing.
@sandyosullivan@Percy_ixi@_cyberbanshee This is really interesting. The metadata is very focussed on the queer content (which makes sense) but I can see opportunities for metadata enrichment to make the Indigenous knowledge more clearly identifiable. Iโm interested to see what your take is once youโve visited SOS.
Last day on campus (for a while) with my fabulous colleagues @BronwynCarlson, @sandyosullivan , Madi Day @ @BakicTetei. And happily I got to catch up with SOS before they head off overseas for a few months. Safe travels Sandy! #blakademia
