It's because Nigeria is a messed up country, regulatory bodies are incompetent and why universities like this can remain unapologetic about scamming students cause they know there won't be much public attention or fuss about it. It really is sad.
Full Message From The Vice Chancellor Copied Verbatim;
OFFICIAL STATEMENT TO OUR LAW STUDENTS AND PARENTS
_Dear Parents and Students,_
Good morning to you all.
This is to officially inform you that the Management of Atiba University Oyo, is aware of the recent social media posts going round concerning the decision of the Council of Legal Education (CLE) regarding the University’s Law programme.
We wish to reassure our students and parents that Management, upon receipt of the official correspondent from the CLE, shall take steps to formally appeal the decision and request a review of the ten-year moratorium if this is the case. The University remains fully committed to complying with all requirements and directives of the Council towards resolving the matter.
Atiba University remains NUC-accredited for its approved programmes, including Law, and continues to operate within the approved academic framework.
Our priority is to protect the interests of our students and ensure that they are able to complete their studies and, subject to applicable regulatory requirements, proceed to the Nigerian Law School and NYSC.
We are also engaging with Faculties of Law within the South-West and relevant institutions overseas to explore appropriate opportunities for the placement and professional development of our students.
We remain hopeful that, through constructive engagement, the CLE will assist in finding a reasonable pathway that protects the interests of students already admitted.
We therefore appeal to our students and parents to remain calm, prayerful and confident. This is a time for unity, constructive engagement and solutions. We particularly urge everyone to avoid social media comments or actions that may unnecessarily escalate the matter or hinder ongoing efforts.
Management remains fully committed to the welfare and future of every Law student and will keep all stakeholders appropriately informed.
We sincerely appreciate your patience, understanding, prayers and continued confidence in the University.
The Management
Atiba University Oyo, Nigeria.

🚨THE STUDENTS HAVE LISTED OUT THEIR DEMANDS;
OFFICIAL STATEMENT OF DEMAND FROM ATIBA UNIVERSITY AFFECTED LAW STUDENTS TO THE SCHOOL MANAGEMENT.
This is to officially request immediate action regarding our current academic standing, following the university's inability to secure accreditation from the Council of Legal Education (CLE).
The management required that we wait till result is out from the CLE and we now have what we have been waiting for. We are now aware the school has failed to secure approval to admit Law Students and this accreditation status of the school from the CLE is public and cannot be denied authenticity. There is no other striking evidence than what the CLE has officially published.
Given the significant amount of time lost and the severe psychological and emotional toll this situation has taken on we, the affected students, we hereby present the following reasonable demands:
The foremost is an official physical meeting with affected students and parents respectively. The management must not hide at this time but hold a conference to consider the demands made.
1. *Full Tuition Refund*: A reasonable refund of school fees paid by the affected students throughout the duration of their unapproved enrollment in the program by the school.
2. *Free Transcripts*: The immediate issuance of official academic transcripts, free of charge, to all students or parents who makes request for them. The school made a promise to consider cost-free transcripts when the result from the COUNCIL OF LEGAL EDUCATION is out and now it is.
3. In connection with the above request, the immediate release of all pending results to facilitate and expedite the processing of these transcripts.
4. *Transfer of Students*: A transparent update on the process of the promised liaison with various Faculties of Law as the school as mentioned by the school. This line of action was promised several months ago and we request to know whether this is true or a facade.
We expect a reply on the facilitation of these demands before the end of this week on *Friday 21st August, 2026.*
This is a critical moment for our future, and we look forward to receiving a timely feedback from management regarding these matters before an escalation of grievances.
The Aggrieved Students.
Atiba University Oyo Faculty of Law.

A CALL FOR HELP!!!
For the past couple of weeks, my family has been going through a lot because of my brother’s academic future.
It turns out that the university he attends fraudulently deceived students and parents, they did not do the necessary resource verification/accreditation process with the Council of Legal Education (CLE), yet students were admitted into the Law programme, they've graduated a set and have levels 100-500.
According to the information flying around, @CLE_NLS has now imposed a 10-year moratorium on the university. I am not saying the CLE is solely at fault, but I struggle to understand how students who are clearly victims of this situatio are expected to bear the consequences.
How are students supposed to know the technical procedures and processes surrounding university and professional accreditation? CLE only began publicly releasing lists of recognized universities much more recently. Many of these students simply enrolled through the normal admission process, trusting the institutions and regulatory bodies responsible for ensuring that everything was in order.
Imagine being in 400 or 500 level, expecting to graduate, only to suddenly find yourself considering rewriting JAMB and starting all over again.
How did @jamb_hq grant admission to students to study Law in a university whose Law programme was not properly recognized by the CLE? How did the @OfficialNUC accredit a LAW knowing that CLE has not approved the course?
These students did not create this problem. They are the ones paying the price for it. The school management has refused to show empathy and remorse about the situation.
My brother is one of them. We chose this university because we needed an affordable opportunity for him to obtain an education, especially in a country where access to quality education is already difficult for many families.
This is a cry for help.
I am appealing to lawyers, journalists, human-rights advocates, government officials, student organisations, public figures, and anyone who can help bring attention to this matter.
Please share. Please repost. Please help amplify the voices of these students.
They deserve a solution. They deserve the opportunity to complete the education they started in good faith.
My brother needs help. These students need help.
Please, somebody, help us😭🙏.
