We have been inspired by the book ‘A Shelter for Sadness’ by @Bridgeanne and @dc_litchfield to create our own class poem about our sadness.

In our poem we have explained how we might look when we are sad and what we can do to make ourselves feel better.

WE ARE GETTING A CLASS PET!

We have been working on a not so secret project to ask for permission to have two Axolotls as class pets.

Today we all took part in a presentation for Mr Foster-Carr and after spending a lot of time deliberating … he said yes!

We are so proud to present our finished playgrounds!

We have worked so hard to build playground equipment structures using different materials in DT.

We have also used our playgrounds when creating our own stop motion animation videos today.

Friday = Forest School!

In our session today we spent time shaving sticks to get the bark off so we can use them in our cooking session next week.

Of course we then ended the session with a turn on our forest school swing! @BartonCloughFS

Day 2️⃣ of creating our DT playground project.

We spent a lot of time designing the green areas within our park before moving on to creating some solid structures to represent playground equipment.

We can’t wait to show you our finished playgrounds!

Day 1️⃣ of creating our final pieces for our DT structures topic.

We are working with cardboard, lolly sticks, pipe cleaners and tissue paper to design and build our playgrounds.

Today created the base of our playground. We of course had to add lots of green 🌳

To celebrate #BritishScienceWeek we learnt about Gentoo penguins and how they build nests using rocks found in their habitat.

We worked together to build a secure nest using things found in our wild wood.

It doesn’t look very comfy but it stayed secure in the Manchester rain!🐧

We loved our tree planting session this morning 🌳

Oak class worked so hard and we are very proud to say we planted 15 trees in just 30 minutes!🌲

It was hard work! We also couldn’t believe just how many worms we met while digging, luckily we all had gloves on!

We loved opening our new ‘mystery books’ delivery this week! 📚

We read the blurb and looked at the titles of each book before making predictions.

We can’t wait to use one of these books as part of our English lessons next week!

Forest school has always been our favourite part of the week, we look forward to our Friday afternoons so much!

However, when we got to make and eat popcorn it became the “bestest most amazing incredible” part of the week according to Harley! 🍿
