Man evolved among animals with more power in their cranium but not necessarily with the wisdom to use that intelligence optimally. Lady evolution gave females a deep playbook of intuition and femininity. People talk too much and love to small. We've learned to make great living without any life. The Bryan Johnson's of the world think they are adding years to life, but the reality is they are subtracting life to years. This is time inflation. Time theft. This is fourth turning things.

Smart males have see and observed females who use this combination of gifts properly, are enabled to mystify the mind of most men, including the one I see in the mirror.

Cultivate a few outside the box ideas everyday to force your mind to think about what is outside its current reality. I'm doing that today as I embark on todays new journey I am beginning.

Their tuition reprices. Their savings melt. But their access to cheap leverage is limited or punitive. They experience inflation as damage.

The asset-owning class experiences inflation as transfer.

That is why inflation is not merely “prices going up.” Inflation is a balance-sheet sorting mechanism. It separates those who can borrow against credibility from those who must save in currency.

The Coca-Cola bond is powerful because it lets the company manufacture a financial liability that other people treat as safe. Pension funds, insurers, bond funds, and conservative allocators buy the paper. Coca-Cola receives dollars today. It pays fixed coupons tomorrow. If the currency base expands faster than the cost of that debt, Coca-Cola wins quietly.

The product is Coke.

The deeper product is creditworthiness.

The deepest product is access to monetary dilution before the masses feel it.

This is why ownership matters more than income. Income gets taxed and inflated away. Assets and cheap fixed-rate liabilities ride the monetary wave.

The system is not neutral.

It rewards people who can convert money into claims before money loses value.

It punishes people who receive money after the dilution has already moved through the asset layer.

That is the real game.

Rich entities sell paper promises and buy reality.

Poor people sell reality and hold paper promises.

Knowledge is not wisdom. And wisdom does not arise from being spoon fed facts. It comes only from experience.

Teachers force-feed math, science, language, geography, and other bodies of obligatory content. But no amount of facts can replace experience, especially the wonderful privilege of failure. The skinned knee teaches more than the safety manual. The rejected manuscript teaches more than the writing guide. The broken heart stings more than any poem.

People talk about AI as if it can reach the source code of wisdom. But it can't, because it's not alive. It doesn't suffer disappointment. Heartache. Longing. Ridicule. It can mimic the words of those who have, but it misses the mark of the experience. It's a robot cheating off the paper of the scared boy sitting next to him, copying the answers without ever having wrestled with the questions.

John Dewey wrote that “there are but two philosophies. One of them accepts life and experience in all its uncertainty, mystery, doubt, and half knowledge and turns that experience upon itself to deepen and intensify its own qualities—to imagination and art. This is the philosophy of Shakespeare and Keats.”

The second is the quest for certainty. AI eagerly takes up its mantle. This philosophy treats ambiguity as defect, mystery as inefficiency, doubt as error to be corrected. It seeks fixed, absolute knowledge and pursues certainty through abstraction, system-building, and fixed outcomes. It wants the answer key to existence.

But that's not life. That’s Macbeth's despair. It’s life as “a walking shadow, a poor player that struts and frets his hour upon the stage and then is heard no more... a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.” The quest for certainty, carried to its end, arrives at nihilism. If meaning must be “proven,” then nothing means anything.

There’s a reason Shakespeare never resolves Hamlet's questions. Keats doesn't explain the Grecian urn. He called this comfort with ambiguity negative capability; the capacity to remain “in uncertainties, mysteries, doubts, without any irritable reaching after fact and reason.”

Tarantino never reveals what's inside the briefcase. Because that's not how life works. The mystery IS the meaning.

The human experience is not about gathering all the data, plugging it into an algorithm, and being handed an answer. It's about embracing uncertainty. It’s living inside the question. A machine that mimics human expression is not human precisely because it is programmed, compelled to generate a response. It cannot sit with silence. It cannot shrug. It doesn't realize that sometimes there is no answer. Or that the absence of an answer is itself the point.

Only humans can appreciate that. Only the living can find wisdom in not knowing.

When C < D → empathy decays exponentially → suspicion metastasizes → every institution turns into a mutual-defection arms race → intelligence budget is burned fighting itself instead of building starships → collapse.

There is no third path.

No neutral equilibrium holds when tools become powerful enough to make defection catastrophic.

Paperclip maximizers? Just the fastest way to drive C − D deeply negative.

The Filter is brutally impartial: any species (biological or silicon) that permits defectors to reliably outcompete cooperators self-terminates before it ever becomes multi-planetary.

The only civilization that threads the needle is the one that understands this equation early enough and has the courage to ruthlessly reorganize every incentive, cultural story, economic mechanism, governance structure, and AI architecture around a single imperative:

Make C > D.
Make it increasingly true.
Make it irreversible.

Do that and the Filter is not a wall.
It becomes a sieve that lets only benevolent intelligence through.

Hide from it, postmodernize it, or try to outsmart it with 10,000 pages of alignment bandaids and the exponential decay wins before your probes ever clear the heliopause.

I posted about time-locking and was shocked how many...

- didn't use it
- didn't know about it
- mistakenly thought they couldn't move their Bitcoin.

Let me break it down at a high-level for you 👇

First, there are TWO types of time-locking.

The 1st one is what you think it is (what it sounds like). But it's the second one I find more useful.

ABSOLUTE TIME-LOCKING (CLTV)
This is when you take any Bitcoin, or fraction of (technically a UTXO), and make it un-spendable until a future block.

The 2nd one is what I'm referring to. This is...

RELATIVE TIME-LOCKING (CSV)
Think of this as locking additional KEYS into the future rather than your Bitcoin.

Consider your current set-up - whether single, single with passphrase, or multi-sig - as your MAIN SPEND.

Now consider an entirely new, different set-up - whether single, single with passphrase, or multi-sig - as your RECOVERY SPEND.

Got it?

Your main spend is available for you to spend whenever you want.

BUT... what if you lose your keys? Or what if you die and your family can't find your keys?

Well, your Recovery Spend set-up kicks in as an additional access to your Bitcoin.

But this Recovery Spend won't kick in unless, and until, you haven't used your Main Spend key within a specified time period.

Your Recovery Spend isn't valid and keeps getting pushed down into the future until, or unless, your Main Spend is no longer accessible.

Here's a simple example (but the configurations are endless!):

You have a typical 12-word single-sig setup.

This is your Main Spend.

But you then time-lock a Recover Spend for 6 months into the future with a completely separate set of 12-words.

You then further define a Recovery Spend #2 as 12 months into the future with yet a third set of 12 words.

Now... whenever you transact with your Main Spend, the two Recovery Spend paths you just set up continue to reset the clock. They keep getting pushed down 6 months and 12 months all over again.

It's kinds of like a dead-man-switch.

As long as there is activity, the recovery paths never take effect. Those two sets of keys can't access your Bitcoin. Someone can find them and nada happens.

But... if you accidentally lose your key or die, your 1st Recovery Spend key(s) becomes active 6 months from the last time you spent from your Main Spend key.

And then 12 months from the initial Main Spend transacting, the 2nd Recovery Spend becomes available. At that point ALL of these keys work.

The key options EXPAND over time. You're adding MORE KEYS that can access your Bitcoin.

You can also do the opposite and DECAY the keys rather than expand.

So in the example above you can have 3 keys as your Main Spend, then have that decay to any 2 of those same keys as your 1st Recovery Spend, and then have any 1 of those keys as your 2nd Recovery Spend.

This way if you have a multi-sig and you accidentally lost the quorum of 2-of-3 keys.... you can wait 12 months and it only takes any 1 of them.

Now here's where it gets even better:

You can also destroy your Main Spend in any of these set-ups, thus effectively time-locking yourself as there is no key at all to send/spend your Bitcoin in the present.

This is the ultimate diamond hands.

But because you have a Recovery Spend defined upon set-up, the key(s) you hold for that works at a future point in time (thus resembling Absolute Time-locking).

Platforms like Liana or Nunchuk that use mini-script to write these simple If-This-Then-That smart contracts make this crazy easy with pretty sliders and buttons that make it dummy proof.

Spin some new keys up and just try it. It's free. Even your desktop can spin up unlimited keys. And you can time-lock just a couple of weeks away to get the feel for it.

Even a malicious actor can't get your Bitcoin with time-locking unless they can time travel.

If you're a long-term holder I'd learn more about time-locking and see how it might benefit parts of your stack.

Of course, multi-sig collaborative security is still one of the best set-ups there is, period.

But learning how programmable aspects of Bitcoin work, like time-locking, is powerful for all kinds of use-cases.

Satoshi wrote on January 10, 2009:

"The [Bitcoin] network infrastructure can support a full range of escrow transactions and contracts."

Time-locking is a good example of this functionality.

So the answer to the question “why is it so necessary?” is this:

Because until you learn to derive your sense of existence from within the field itself - from truth, coherence, and awareness - you will always need mirrors to know who you are.

And when those mirrors break, you’ll call it loss.
