LOBO BASEBALL OVERCOMES ADVERSITY FOR CLUTCH WINS!

Longview rebounded from a pair of losses on opening day to earn a 9-7 come-from-behind win over Liberty-Eylau on Friday at the Longview Tournament. The Lobos trailed 7-0 before mounting their rally.

Andrew Tutt sparked the offense, going 3-for-4 with a triple, single, RBI and two runs scored. His two-run triple put Longview ahead 8-7 in the decisive fifth inning. Drew Flores also had a big day, collecting two hits and driving in two runs. Ronald Woods and Bryson Denning contributed two hits apiece while Datravion Gates and Jacolbie Granville also delivered key hits.

On the mound, starter Trent Keebaugh earned the victory in relief. Keebaugh struck out three over four innings while allowing just one hit after taking over for Tutt.

The Lobos concluded tournament play Saturday with a 5-2 triumph over crosstown rival Spring Hill. Flores again played hero, lining a two-run triple to break a 2-2 tie in the fourth inning. Gates followed with a run-scoring groundout. Taylor Tatum and Woods also had multi-hit efforts in the winning performance.

Over the three-day event, the Lobos finished 2-3 but closed play with back-to-back victories, carrying that momentum into a 3-2 road win over Lufkin-Hudson on Monday night!

Cole Ramey tossed a complete game 5-hitter to pick up the victory on the mound while Gates paced the offense with three hits and two RBIs. Tutt also made a game-saving throw to the plate for Longview.

With continued offensive production from the likes of Tutt, Flores, Woods, Tatum, and Denning, as well as a solid stable of pitchers like Ramey and Keebaugh, Longview is poised to make strides this season!
