The funny part about this commentary from Hill is that I had the exact opposite takeaway: I was shocked how little they showboated Trump, especially seeing it was his birthday (knowing how he is). They showed very little of him other than a couple times after some of the big fights where the fighters walked out to greet him. The ads were mostly showcasing American history (from Lewis and Clark to Washington crossing the Delaware to Regan at the Berlin Wall, to even Clinton and Obama giving speeches about American patriotism). The focus on military members and Medal of Honor recipients was the focal point of the evening.

As far as the Michelle Obama comment from Hokit… anyone who’s a UFC fan knows that guy is nuts. He’s loud. Rude. Everything you saw last night from him. He’s an ‘entertainer’ who plays the bad guy. I don’t think anyone takes him seriously. And the interesting part is Trump personally requested his opponent (Lewis) for the card, not Hokit.

Point is, like it or not, it was not a Trump rally. It was a UFC fight with a heavy dose of stereotypical Americana baked in.

And for the diversity? Did Hill see the fighter line up, for starters? 😂
