Exciting News! We are delighted to announce that FIDIC has renewed and expanded its key agreement with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development - @EBRD
Under this new five-year agreement, EBRD will continue to utilise FIDIC's major standard #construction contracts while also adopting FIDIC's latest publications. This collaboration marks another significant milestone in the world of #infrastructure development and ensures the highest standards for projects financed by EBRD.

The signing ceremony took place in London on June 28, 2023, with senior representatives from FIDIC and EBRD present. This positive move by EBRD sets a significant precedent as FIDIC aims to renew license agreements with other multilateral development banks in the upcoming year.

PROPOSALS FOR POLICY AND REGULATORY FRAMEWORK

@TransportKE recognizes the challenges faced by the engineering professionals in Kenya including:

👉 Low registration rate of professional engineers.
👉 Low consumption of local content in the delivery of engineering services and works
👉 Unharmonized engineering standards
👉 Need to align engineering education, training and capacity building to prevailing local and liberalized market need.

To address some of these challenges, the Convention will make various proposals for the Ministry consideration for improved policy and regulatory framework - Eng. Joseph Mungai Mbugua, Principal Secretary, State Department For Roads, Ministry Of Roads And Transport.
