The point made is that an absence of a quality cannot always be used to argue that conciousness isn't presence.

The other point is that the only definitive reference point we have for consciousness is us.

Conditions like dementia and many other neurocognitive disorders are hardly atypical and are extremely prevalent within society.

So yes it absolutely holds water when taken with the above points, unless you have an extremely narrow definition of what conciousness is or conflate unexpected disorders of function with the absence of conciousness.

You've defined the mechanical limitations of LLMs well but that doesn't define how those limitations will evolve or even answer the more interesting question - What exactly is consciousness?

We've published a total of six releases in the past few days, culminating with today's 0.18.5 update. Updating to the latest version is mandatory because v0.18.5 raises the swap protocol version and will not trade with v0.18.4 and earlier.

The Decred and Firo core updates are mandatory as well, and there is a one-time database migration that occurs automatically.

✅ Refund-path hardening for adaptor-sig swaps, closing a fee-replacement route on the shared lock output
✅ Reworked mercy path so a failed swap can still recover the other side's coin (on by default again)
✅ Stricter fee verification, plus Electrum now defaults to TLS (mark plaintext entries with :t)
✅ Mandatory Decred and Firo core updates, plus database housekeeping (schema v38)
