NOW is your rare opportunity to secure a succulent HARDCOVER copy of Basileus, the greatest comic book ever produced (by me)@Kickstarter https://t.co/tLDysyrlEI
@stephenlondoner@francessmith@ferrino100 I was responding to your claim about central bank independence, and offering some explanation as to how government policy is responsible for inflation. All OECD countries followed the same playbook an suffered the same consequences, our govs are obviously stooges of a higher powr
@stephenlondoner@francessmith@ferrino100 QE programs are in response to massive deficit spending. Look up 'Fiscal dominance', where central banks are forced by their mandate into financing governments, despite their supposed independence. You may then begin to understand. https://t.co/9Gqg5B6z4I
@erinotoole@_kruptos I'm surprised someone so high up in our political system is so uneducated. Discussion of class is not purely marxist, the managerial class is not exclusively public sector. Criticism of the intelligentsia first arose as a criticism of Marxists. I'm stupid and I know this.
@LordTemplar1@billweberx@ChristianHeiens I think I see what you mean now, actually. It could be that this is just intended to target the size aspect of SWaM registered businesses, rather than the other bits. Interesting, thanks.
@LordTemplar1@billweberx@ChristianHeiens Sorry, six check boxes. It seem to me that when applying you can append different identifiers to your business, which will be considered, as per the bill, when dispensing state contracts.
@LordTemplar1@billweberx@ChristianHeiens Ive looked at the application, there are four checkboxes for identifying small, woman owned and minority owned, that can be selected in any combination. I'm not sure what you are referring to here, and there seems to be nothing official describing that.
@LordTemplar1@billweberx@ChristianHeiens ...and the stated purpose of the bill seems to be to increase utilization of small business, is the woman and minority category irrelevant in your understanding?
@LordTemplar1@billweberx@ChristianHeiens I'm curious how you are reading this. The bill summary redundantly says "small SWaM". If we are to assume that woman and minority owned only applies when the business is not small (employing more than 250 employees)...
@donalfellows@memeticsisyphus Modern mass migration is a tool states use to manage their economies; their debt, pension funds, tax collection, etc. Whatever Hollywood style story is being told by people to others or to themselves, is simply rationalizing a global economic force which is beyond their control.
@donalfellows@memeticsisyphus It is purely that. Urbanization didn't make those people richer, US dollar denominated corporate bonds and international capital flows did. Simultaneously, the relative wealth of the western working class declined, as they stopped participating directly in their own consumption.
@memeticsisyphus When employers run up against shortages, they begin to look beyond human labour, which is why there is so much exuberance presently about AI. This problem is only resolvable by strangling the supply of debt, which allows owner's to expand their operations beyond practical utility
@memeticsisyphus The slave trade was one incarnation in a long line of owner exploitation of labour, which includes driving rural people off the land into new industrial cities, and today mass migration from previously unexploited labour markets abroad.
@LottaFrau91910@typofoto It is a facebook meme-tier myth. The English bred pigs specifically to produce bacon, the word is of proto-germanic origin. It likely resembled chinese "bacon" only insofar as it was cured pig meat. Butter being turkish is also very silly.
