Anti Brexit, Reform and the Tories. Despise all cruelty and those who hunt. Love history, books, art, gardening, astronomy, the list goes on ….. No DMs please
Ask yourself why @reformparty_uk put up such a poor, flawed, and ultimately inadequate candidate?
They desperately want a leadership contest, and potentially another general election as a result.
They seek destabilisation of the UK. Make NO mistake.
Also, remember how Reform have been funded - with likely Russian money and persistent impact on social media.
Join up the dots, yeah?
Please don’t be fooled.

Just remember Andy Burnham caused this UNNECESSARY COSTLY BY-ELECTION when we had a perfectly good LABOUR MP and has stoked up HATRED and DIVISION

For my mind, this demonstrates a complete naivety amongst some parliamentary MPs. They appear more concerned about their own jobs than they are about governing and delivering for the country.
Every MP knows when they stand for election that they can lose their seat at any time. That is the nature of democratic politics. It comes with the job.
The reality is that Labour commands a huge majority in the House of Commons. With a majority of over 300, it does not matter what the Conservatives say. It does not matter what Reform says. It does not matter what the SNP says. Much of it is simply noise.
With a majority of that size, a united parliamentary party can pass legislation, implement reforms and deliver the programme on which it was elected. That should be the focus.
What I find extraordinary is that some appear to believe the answer is to remove the very leader who won the election in the first place. If Andy Burnham were somehow to become Prime Minister without leading Labour into a general election victory, he would immediately face questions about legitimacy. Even senior Labour figures made similar arguments when leadership changed without a public mandate.
If Andy Burnham genuinely believes he is more popular with the country than Keir Starmer, then there is a simple test. Call a general election and seek a mandate from the electorate.
My view is that it would be a disaster. Labour would be walking straight into a trap of its own making, abandoning a leader who won a substantial majority for someone whose popularity has never been tested nationally.
The greatest danger to Labour is not the opposition. It is MPs allowing Westminster gossip, personal ambition and political vanity to distract them from the job they were elected to do.
Working in Parliament, you quickly realise there are thousands upon thousands of people like Paul all over the country, willing and able to do something to preserve their little patch of our green and pleasant land, but they are routinely blocked, persecuted, and crushed by local government and arms length bodies like the Environment Agency.
People who want to spend their own time and money to fill in potholes, remove graffiti, or clean their local rivers - to be good conscientious citizens. Instead of being rewarded, they are chided and criticised.
Fucked up country.
I’ve submitted my plan to stop fox hunting.
It closes legal loopholes used to kill wildlife:
🦊Removing exemptions from the Hunting Act
🦊Using a foreseeability test so hunts can’t hide behind smokescreens.
🦊Making it an offence to order dogs to flush out foxes
Back my Bill.
Just look at Underdog Edie enjoying some time out of kennels at her handler Tasha's house. 🥰
She's our longest staying #RescueDog having already waited over 5yrs to find her forever home. 😔

🔍 The Daily Deep Dive
We had the clowns.
We had the loud voices.
We had the big slogans.
We had Reform.
And under the Conservatives, the country was driven into the ground.
Britain does not need another politician arriving with a microphone, a slogan and a suspiciously enthusiastic press pack.
It does not need charisma without competence.
It does not need more theatre, chaos or politicians who mistake volume for leadership.
It needs a government that delivers.
And if Andy Burnham is being presented as Labour’s emergency superhero, his Greater Manchester record deserves a proper look:
Buses — Delivered: Greater Manchester’s buses returned to local control in January 2025.
Integrated fares — Delivered: Contactless bus-and-tram daily fare capping launched in March 2025.
Youth travel — Delivered: Our Pass provides free buses, with a £10 application fee.
Rough sleeping — Missed: Eradication promised by 2020; rough sleeping still remains.
Police — Mixed: Officer numbers increased, but GMP spent nearly two years under special measures.
Council homes — Far behind: 10,000 promised by 2028; early delivery has been painfully slow.
Walking and cycling — Missed: 500 miles promised by 2024; the network remains incomplete.
Landlord standards — Partial: The Good Landlord Charter launched, but participation remains voluntary.
Living Wage — Partial: Regional accreditation achieved; universal payment remains unfinished.
Net zero — Ongoing: The 2038 target remains a target, not a delivered achievement.
Burnham deserves credit where it is due, particularly for the Bee Network (maybe Minister of Buses ?).
But his overall record is mixed, not miraculous.
The cape may photograph well.
The delivery spreadsheet is less cinematic.
Popularity is not delivery.
Charisma is not competence.
And replacing a sitting Prime Minister with another round of promises would risk returning Labour to the politics of personalities, plots and Westminster group chats titled “Renewal.”
Keir Starmer should be given the opportunity to finish the term, implement Labour’s programme and be judged on the results.
That is how serious democracy should work.
Not another leadership circus.
Not another personality contest.
Not another clown car.
Less noise. More delivery.
#LessNoiseMoreDelivery
No , Natural England aren't looking to kill all the Dartmoor ponies , as disingenuous politicians across the political divide would have you believe .
A lot of hysteria about this news story over the past few days – well and truly debunked here . . . https://t.co/GOpkwE0qHF

- Stabilise the economy
- Bring down waiting lists and migration
- A 'closer, better relationship' with the EU
Keir Starmer lists the achievements of his government - targets which two years ago, people told him were 'not possible'.
The right wing pundit myth that retail is struggling once again dealt a hit with data.
Figures from the ONS today show Core Retail Sales year on year +4.6%.
This continues a medium term trend since the General Election 👇
Some heroic extrapolation going on. Just because Burnham is popular in his own backyard, doesn't follow that this will translate into countrywide popularity during a general election in 2/3 years time.

In 'strictly confidential' leaked British Hound Sports Association (BHSA) board meeting minutes seen by The Times, Viscount Astor told fellow board members, that if the government accepted an offer to change scent to "effectively drag hunting", ministers "could claim victory without the difficulty of legislation".
The HSA has warned throughout that hunt leaders are attempting to use drag hunting as the new smokescreen - they are hoping this would save the infrastructure whilst they wait for what they believe to be the next government - Nigel Farage's Reform, to repeal the ban and bring back fox hunting.
The government needs to ensure that its new legislation is watertight and permanent. Fox hunters will stop at nothing to be able to inflict cruelty upon wildlife for their own pleasure. Read The Times uncovering of the plot here 👉https://t.co/44Gm9cRgud
A Coronation Is Not a Contest
Makerfield changes the argument.
Not because Andy Burnham won. Labour should welcome any Labour victory over Reform. But because some now want to turn one by-election into a coronation.
They call it dignity for Starmer. But dignity is not being handed your coat by pundits. Dignity is facing the party, facing the country, and defending the mandate he won.
Burnham’s result was strong. But it was also built on tactical voting, a collapsed Tory vote, and a divided populist right. Labour won because Labour united against Reform.
That is the lesson.
Not panic. Not palace intrigue. Not a handover arranged in a room.
Keir Starmer has already shown the qualities required for hard government: discipline, seriousness, resilience and duty. He inherited a damaged country, not a settled one. He was elected to repair it, not abandon the work when the weather turned.
If others want the crown, let them stand. Let them argue. Let them be tested.
But no Labour leader should be removed by mood music, media pressure or a manufactured inevitability.
The Labour crown is not of gold. It is of thorns.
And Starmer has earned the right to fight for it.

The Environment Agency should definitely be worried now. My Daily Mail status has been upgraded from yesterday’s “do-gooder” to today’s “well-meaning”.
