Tinuro sakin ni Carina na hinding-hindi ka puwedeng magsayang ng oras. A simple “mamaya na” or “bukas na” can cost thousands, shattered momentum, wasted time and effort.
Alam mo na yung lesson dati pero sinapak sa’yo ngayon. Noted po, The Great Programmer of the Universe.
“You can't get rich renting out your time.
You can go to school and study how to make money, but there's no actual skill called business.
You get rewarded by figuring out what society wants, but doesn’t yet know how to get, and becoming the person who delivers that, at scale.”
Erich Fromm: “When people can’t handle God anymore, they turn to religion.”
Carl Jung: "One of the main functions of organized religion is to protect people against a direct experience of God."
Kabir: "Student, tell me, what is God? He is the breath inside the breath.”
Rumi: "I looked for God. I went to a temple and I didn't find him there. Then I went to a church and I didn't find him there. The I went to a mosque and I didn't find him there. Then finally I looked in my heart and there he was."
Meister Eckhart: “The eye through which I see God is the same eye through which God sees me; my eye and God's eye are one eye, one seeing, one knowing, one love.”
Yes, Israel is being oppressive now pero as if naman nakuha ng Arabs and Ottoman Empire ang Palestine through peaceful convincing. Kung may video at international news na nung mga panahon na yun, it’s the same shit.
"Freethinkers are those who are willing to use their minds without prejudice and without fearing to understand things that clash with their own customs or beliefs." - Leo Tolstoy
Question everything, regularly, including the ideas you hold most dear to your heart.
Happy 179th Birthday to Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche: the man who wrote with fire, thunder, and blood. He captured lightning in a glass bottle, alchemically turned the brass of the 19th century into Gold Still Glittering, and wrote books that are great shock therapy for the soul.
Beyond his arguments - their logic holds up against the best of the best - beyond the obvious fact that he was touched by divine inspiration like no one else, what is most remarkable is the spirit of his writing: Nietzsche wrote to strengthen himself and the reader.
Stable strength - strength that is a bone in the body and not just a mood in the mind - is a rare beast. Not all can find it, tame it, and ride it.
But everyone who lived post Nietzsche, and wanted True Strength, inevitably turned to him.
People love to say Nietzsche went mad, but did he not ESCAPE many forms of madness? The madness of equality, the madness of a world built on nothing but pity and machinery, the madness of thinking of humans as utility maximisers. Did he not remain sane as the age went bonkers?
He predicted the dominant psychological state of 2022: depressive nihilism. Also predicted the dominant power structures of 2022: byzantine bureaucracies propping up the last man as he streams simulations in HD.
Prophet? Ridiculously good at understanding 2nd & 3rd order effects?
Perhaps all writing is cope. It's at least proof that our instincts are broken, because we essentially write to understand our own gut reactions.
But we are the Language Species at the end of the day. And no one wielded language like a weapon & a torchlight better than Nietzsche.
Whatever your historically based political sympathies, if you have even a shred of human decency you surely cannot morally justify Saturday's barbaric attacks on innocent civilians. “A plague o’ both your houses” is, for once, inappropriate.
Us humans! Creating robots, sending people to outer space, creating AI, and yet here we are acting like fucking savages. Like chimpanzees on turf war fighting over a small portion of the jungle.
This is the innocent woman ruthlessly killed and tortured by Hamas militants today.
Her body was paraded in the back of a pickup truck in her underwear while men spat on her.
Her name was Shani Louk and she was a German citizen attending a music festival to promote peace near the Gaza border.
