ASCB presentations went well! Mikaela rocked her first oral presentation at an international conference. We loved learning from and meeting with colleagues and friends. I’m proud of these current and former students.
@karliswenson gave a great talk on how fetal CBD exposure impacts offspring glucose intolerance and insurance resistance at the 2023 cannabis research conference (of which she was the chair of the program planning committee!) @cannabisresear3
Congratulations to @karliswenson on the publication of her work showing that intrauterine CBD exposure changes brain development in mice in collaboration with @WonchanOh @ephyswizard Published today! https://t.co/Yhs5ti1tzX
#Cleftpalate is a failure of the roof of the #mouth to close and is one of the most frequent #birthdefects affecting 1 in every 1000-2000 babies. A new study reveals the cellular heterogeneity and molecular underpinnings of #palate development. https://t.co/y0dqcTg0Fu
@phil_w888 @SiegenthalerLab @CUAnschutz@yozekin Let us know when you find a way to teach a mouse to vape. Until then, we have to use a method that delivers less nicotine per vape- it’s like sitting in a car with someone who is vaping.
@SeismicPirate@BatesLab@CUAnschutz@CSD_CUAMC@bsp_cu@CUDevBio In an ideal world, we would recommend avoiding cigarettes and vapes just like how we say not to drink alcohol during pregnancy. Ultimately, that conversation should occur between the mother and their doctor. Our research will hopefully help clinicians determine best practices
Congratulations to @yozekin for his perseverance in completing this important research showing that vaping nicotine during pregnancy disrupts craniofacial development through inhibition of kcnj2 https://t.co/4dMR3K35QN
