Congratulations to @CSD_CUAMC student @madisonar2 on passing her thesis defense with flying colors! Very grateful to have had you in the lab and we are all so excited to see what your future will bring.🎉
It’s official! My application for a F31 Predoctoral Individual National Research Service Award was selected for funding! I was awarded 3 years of funding to study the role of c-Kit in the homeostasis of sweet-sensing taste cells. Thanks to @Barlow_Lab for all the support!
Congratulations to Dr. Alex Theis @altieee on passing her thesis defense! We are so grateful for your dedication to the CSD program and can’t wait to see where your journey takes you next!
Couldn't be more proud of @CSD_CUAMC PhD student @WolfSchleicher on his successful @NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program application! Wolf is an outstanding investigator and future STEM leader - and it's a pleasure to serve as his mentor!
Congratulations to @Ian_Stancil on passing his thesis defense! We are so grateful for your impact on the CSD program and can’t wait to see what you do next! 🎉
Thanks @CSD_CUAMC@nudibranchfan and @K_Alemany for putting together such a great program retreat in the beautiful mountains. Great talks, ideas, and conversations. We all benefit from these interactions. I love that science is really a team sport.
Just home from my 1st CSD retreat. My heart is full of gratitude, my mind full of ideas and my eyes still in awe of the gorgeous snow capped mountains. Thanks for an incredible time @CSD_CUAMC! So thankful to study and work with so many wonderful scientists and people!
Congratulations to Dr. @bjcdennison123 for passing her thesis defense! We are so grateful to have you in the CSD community and can’t wait to see what you do next! 🎉 @Fantauzzo_Lab @CU_CFB
Congratulations to Dr. Michael Kaufman, @OzmotheCat, from the @Brzezinski_Lab on such an amazing thesis defense! The CSD community is very proud of your scientific work and commitment, and we are so excited to see your work in the future! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Congratulations to CSD's first appointees to the NIH T32 for 2021-2022! 🎉🎉🎉

Delighted to share our updated work, led by @CSD_CUAMC student @bjcdennison123, which has been accepted for publication at @Dev_journal! https://t.co/E8C1qDeTRI
Huge congratulations to Dr. @kaytscott from the @AppelLabCU on a successful thesis defense! We are so grateful for your everlasting impact on the CSD community and can’t wait to see what you do next! 🎉
@c_fees, @DrMicrotubule, @jayneaiken_ are all in academia post-docs at Brandeis, MIT, and UPenn respectively. Colby and Jayne (CSD alums) are still working on the cytoskeleton while Cassi (Molbio alum) is now working on neural circuits!
Day 5: Where we’re going! Students of the Moore lab have a wide range of interests following their PhD from academia to industry. If you don’t believe us here are some Moore lab alums and where they are in their journey!
@GabriellaLi1 is the most recent graduate as of March and is currently working in industry at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Golden, Colorado. Clearly energy and electricity have been on her mind
Not only is budding yeast important for Moore lab experiments, it has also been a very usual fungus for humans for many millennia. You can thank this yeast for breadmaking or for fermenting drinks like beer and wine!
Day 4: Fun facts and activities! When Moore lab members take a break from lab you can find them hiking and camping throughout Colorado or playing with their pups!
@LwoodCUAnschutz uses taxol, a chemotherapeutic drug, to study changes to microtubule structures in various cancer cell lines. Fun Fact! Taxol is derived from the bark of the Pacific yew tree, but you won’t find Lisa out scavenging, she’ll be with Izzy paddleboarding!
There's always microscopy work in the Moore lab! When she's not looking at microtubules in vivo, here's Katie Hoff analyzing tag free purified tubulin with interference reflection microscopy!
Day 3: Life in the lab! How do introns regulate tubulin isotype expression? We don't know either but hopefully the genetic screen @lwethekam and Blossom did today will point us in the right direction!
@xyzeke, @K_Alemany, and Charles teamed up to purify Cin8. They may not enjoy optimizing protein biochemistry but think of all the fun in vitro experiments they will be able to do!
