Andy Burnham must now show how he will control public spending, especially the welfare bill.
A failure to do this will mean more ruinous, growth sapping speculation in the run up to the next budget around which taxes he will raise.
@KemiBadenoch has set out a clear and sensible offer to avoid this.
Andy Burnham should take it.
Britain’s challenges demand bold leadership. While Keir Starmer changes his position to suit the moment.
@KemiBadenoch fights for what’s right— because progress doesn’t come from playing it safe.

The Prime Minister either has no idea how badly the Budget is hurting people or more likely…doesn’t care.
The catastrophic effect of HIS budget means jobs will be lost, businesses closed, lives destroyed.
Listen to his MPs laugh as they hear about the economy being damaged👇
Is democracy finally coming to Bath?
FOUR LibDem Councillors are asking for a public debate on moving a waste site to a residential area.
OR are they scared of yet more legal challenges?
And will they FINALLY allow us a public debate on LTNs?

Here he is @SteveReedMP the Environment Food & Rural Affairs minister from Streatham & Croydon North who once went into the countryside and tripped over a milk churn declaring that he’d found a cow’s nest!
Bath’s LibDem Council overruling the will of the people.
• 3,300 signed a petition against LTN
• legal case against
Council going ahead anyway and say
“We need more powers to be able to shut roads without quite so much ability for legal challenge.”

Er, as I have been saying @Wera_Hobhouse there is an urgent crisis in Bath.
Your LibDem Council spent millions on roadblocks and fighting the residents in court who rejected them.
Meantime hundreds of special needs kids are awaiting help in Bath but services are underfunded.
BATH:
The #LibDem Council happy to spend millions on LTN roadblocks, miles of new cycle routes but cut services to a homeless shelter - Julian House (part of £802k being cut by council from charity funding).
Shame on you @bathnesld@Wera_Hobhouse

Top Liberal Democrat councillors in Bath have called for ‘more power to shut roads’ without facing legal challenges at the party’s conference.
How very liberal of them.
#SaveBath@Togetherdec@Wera_Hobhouse this is not how democracy works.

Prisoners popping champagne outside as they’re released early into society.
Pensioners sat inside wondering how they’ll get through winter without support.
Welcome to life under Labour…
On Friday 20th Sept @bathnes goes to @WestofEnglandCA with the begging bowl & asks for the funds for their LTN projects.
The question @WestofEnglandCA should ask on behalf of the taxpayers (it's our money by the way) is "have the funds previously released been used correctly".
I wonder if/when we will get a progress report from @Clevelandpools? There is plenty of our @bathnes cash tied up the project, as well as about £10mn quasi public money from lottery players. I think they could be more transparent.
