@TMFScottP@strewthminister@1RossGittins The main data sources were 2026–27 Federal Budget, PBO Medium-Term Budget Outlook, NDIA June 2026 Quarterly Report, NDIA 2026–27 Pricing Schedule, and ANAO audit findings.
@TMFScottP@strewthminister@1RossGittins Budget Paper and PBO forecasts 26/27, NDIS Quarterly Reports, NDIS Pricing Arrangements, Fair work awards, NDIS provider guidelines, NDIS guidelines for SIL, Audit office guidelines. The calculations are illustrative only and simple.
@TMFScottP@strewthminister@1RossGittins I dug into the budget to explore where savings could be made, an atypical 1%, 3%, 5% using an AI. Seems there’s lots of opportunity in the NDIS for reform without impacting levels of care.
@RennickGBR More value add, increasing energy production and automation, the why is easy. Any tax reduction is good, probably need a smaller government policy to match it, or govt cost reduction initiatives. Capital Flight, wouldn’t that depend on where the company is resident?
@TMFScottP 1980’s Russia, queuing for food, it’ll be collective farming next 😳. Seriously, why not look at the complete supply chain and address the issues? 😮💨 Corporates for this already to a degree as they’re profit / outcome driven.
@DHughesy Just walk along your local shopping strip and see how many stores are empty, up for lease or closing down. Talk to store owners, it’s not easy is small business right now.
@Peter_Fitz It’s not that clear once you break it down. Spent fuel is an issue for nuclear, as are used batteries for Solar / Wind. Pumped hydro storage has environmental challenges as well. The biggest barrier to Nuclear is red tape, ideology and emotion rather than economics.
@JaneCaro It’s more than just cost of schooling / raising kids etc, it’s a contributor. Birthrates fell from 2.86 children per women in 1970 to 1.89 by 1980 whilst costs stayed flat. Society and expectations changed, then came the cost explosion from ~2000 onwards and further declines.
@KatCopseyGreens Carbon footprint globally can be reduced by increasing manufacturing capacity in countries with a lower carbon per kWh intensity. If solar panels and wind turbines were made in Australia, they would have a lower carbon footprint than made in China.
@Mon4Kooyong Australia should focus on creating Carbon reducing technologies to use and export. We need to use our minuscule carbon emissions more effectively. If you want to blame Climate Change, blame China, US, India. If you want to do something useful, sponsor industry, allow nuclear.
@JEChalmers Misleading … lies perhaps? In May 2022, gross debt was ~$895 billion. Under Labor August 2026, gross debt was ~$1 Trillion. I asked AI to analyse the PBO, looks like you want to tax Australians to get the government out of debt. Oh dear.
