Join us in City Council Chambers on Sept 17 to support #MuwekmaOhlone’s resolution urging Congress to federally recognize our tribe. Your support would mean a lot to us! #TrailofTruth
On the #TrailofTruth, @Nijmeh4Congress called out those opposing #MuwekmaOhlone’s federal recognition. A rule change offers a narrow chance for unrecognized tribes to re-petition with more evidence. We hope Secretary Newland will make the right decision.

The Trail of Truth reached Red Lake Reservation to join Red Lake Action’s #LakeBack Warrior Ride. Muwekma stands with the Anishinaabe in reclaiming their sacred Lake and protecting their ecosystem. We carry their fight with us as we head to DC to demand justice for all.
Why is San Jose Mayor @MattMahanSJ refusing to do what Mayor Susan Hammer already did in 1994 and acknowledge our existence?
Bring this Resolution to a vote, TODAY!

Today marks the 188th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of New Echota, which forced our ancestors, including my own, onto the Trail of Tears.
That same treaty also promised the Cherokee Nation a delegate seat in the U.S. House. That promise has yet to be fulfilled.
Truly insane to me that Americans are more upset about a 2 hour traffic jam than the fact that their government is complicit in engineering one of the worst humanitarian crises of 21st century.
