This is taxpayer money. The project as currently stands would make Houston: dirtier, more congested, more polluted, more dependent on roads. 45 needs to be fixed, I agree. So let’s do it right.

@DugBegley Agree completely. The good news? It doesn’t have to be one or the other. We were thrilled to see @METROHouston both pass metro next and then buy 20 new EVs. The agency will save upwards of $200,000 per electric bus over its lifetime. That savings can go into more service. Winwin

.@METROHouston is proposing to put 20 new electric buses on the road, one of the largest commitments in Texas. And that comes with a staff recommendation that they commit to a transition to 100% ZEV. Huge news!
