@DugBegley It’s not like we have the future of transportation in the city to think of or anything. Surely the question of one of the nations worst highway boondoggles can be boiled down to two options, right? Right?
Mind boggling petulance from a government agency.
@DugBegley It’s only because I am still in shock over TxDOTs July-fools “comment” process. Seriously want to know who thought up this idea to do a survey monkey gag and give them their own Netflix special. “Do Y’aLl WaNtS tHiS mOnEy Or NoT? Gosh”.
@DugBegley Agree completely. The good news? It doesn’t have to be one or the other. We were thrilled to see @METROHouston both pass metro next and then buy 20 new EVs. The agency will save upwards of $200,000 per electric bus over its lifetime. That savings can go into more service. Winwin
.@METROHouston is proposing to put 20 new electric buses on the road, one of the largest commitments in Texas. And that comes with a staff recommendation that they commit to a transition to 100% ZEV. Huge news!

Very exciting that @METROHouston could set such a lofty goal as full #zeroemissions by 2030. It's good for the climate, the air, and the agency's budget.
